Ethan Winters places the old man's corpse on a bed; Closing his eyes as if he were asleep. Ethan prays that the old man's soul will be welcomed into the gates of Heaven where he can finally rest in peace. His goal had been to expose Mother Miranda, and he was the only one left in his group. Now, Ethan and his daughter were all alone again with no allies to turn to. That is until Ethan receives a call from Chris Redfield. Despite Ethan's reluctance, he answers Chris' call.
"What do you want, Redfield?" Ethan growls.
"Ethan, where are you?" Chris inquires over the phone.
"I'm in some kind of Village. Me and Rose are fine for now, but there are a lot of monsters here. Lycans, they're called," Ethan's anger boils, hearing Chris' voice. He's still angry about what happened at the House and struggles to maintain control over his emotions.
"Are there any survivors?" Ethan looks down at the old man and sighs sadly.
"I'm afraid not," Ethan replies sadly. "There was an old man who gave me a gun, but he was killed a while ago," Ethan can hear Chris sighing through the speaker.
"I'm just glad you and Rose are alright," Ethan's body shakes, and he closes his fist. Grinding his teeth in frustration, Ethan growls into the phone speaker.
"Yes, we're alright," Ethan snaps. "No thanks to you," Ethan's anger for Chris deepens in his heart."If you hadn't raided my house and killed Mia right in front of me, then none of this would've happened," at this point, Ethan Winters doesn't hold back his emotions and allows his anger to control him. Then again, Ethan has a right to be angry at Chris for what he's done. Even if Ethan doesn't know everything.
"Including the fact that you took me and my daughter, you ignorant bastard," Ethan is halted by Chris' voice.
"Ethan, you don't understand the situation," Chris pleads, which does nothing to keep Ethan's mouth shut.
"Then why not explain it to me?!" Ethan shouts.
"Because it doesn't concern you. You're a civilian and this is a military operation," to think that Chris would use that excuse to get Ethan to back off only makes him look pathetic in Ethan's eyes."If you had just cooperated with us instead of putting up a fight, you and your daughter would be safe by now," Ethan doesn't care if Chris wanted him to cooperate.
"What kind of military operation involves kidnapping me and Rose, huh?!" the line cuts off, and Ethan Winters bangs his right hand on the wooden table; Causing Rose to panic. Ethan's emotions subside after hearing his daughter cry. Ethan gasps in fear seeing his daughter so petrified. He kneels and attempts to calm Rose down.
"I'm sorry, Rose. I didn't mean to scare you," Ethan takes out a stuffed monkey toy that Rosemary loves, and the baby suddenly giggles with joy seeing her favorite toy. Ethan hands Rose the stuffed monkey, and Rosemary shakes it around; Playing with it.
"Daddy is just angry at an acquaintance. That's all," Ethan sighs, kissing Rosemary's forehead. Suddenly, the howling returns, indicating that the Horde Ethan and the old man faced earlier is coming back.
"We got to get out of here," Ethan picks up Rosemary and carries her using a makeshift baby carrier inherited from the old man. Ethan takes the gun given to him by the old man and cocks it. Readying himself to face the Horde should they get in his way."Time to rock and roll," Ethan proclaims.
