Chapter Twelve: Family Time

After one day in the Hospital, Donna was allowed to go home with her husband and newborn son. Claire and Leon were looking after Rosemary back at House Beneviento while Ethan and Donna were away. When Donna and Ethan return to the House, they are greeted by Claire and Leon. They had to leave quickly because Chris Redfield needed them on a mission. He was heading to the B.S.A.A. Headquarters to confront them about what he had learned. It turns out that Chris Redfield's suspicions were confirmed.

When Chris learned that the B.S.A.A. sent bio-weapons into the Village, he was outraged and had many questions. Before leaving, Leon and Claire met baby Aaron and were agog when they saw him for the first time.

"Oh, Leon, look at him," said Claire.

"He's certainly a cute little fella," said Leon.

"Hopefully, Rose wasn't too much of a handful," said Ethan.

"She was easy, and she's a sweet little one," said Leon.

"I do hope next time you come, you can stay for dinner," said Donna.

Claire and Leon both liked the idea, but they couldn't promise that since their work demanded much from them.

"Have a safe trip back, you too," said Ethan.

"Congrats again, Ethan," said Leon as he shook Ethan's hand. "And you too, Donna,"

Donna blushes and says thank you to Leon. Leon and Claire depart and head to the airport. Ethan and Donna enter their home and see Rosemary on the floor, crawling to her parents.

"There's my little princess," smiled Ethan, who walked and bent to pick up Rose off the floor. Rosemary giggles with delight, happy to know her Dad is home, including her Mom.

"Hello, sweetheart," said Donna as she walked over to Ethan, who held Rose in his arms. Donna tickled Rose's cheek, and the baby laughed as she was ticklish.

"Say hello to your new brother, Aaron," said Donna. Aaron was still asleep, and Rosemary clapped her hands because she was excited. Even if she wasn't consciously aware of who Aaron was, she knew that Aaron was of her blood, Their Father's
blood.

"Hopefully, they won't be too hassle growing up," joked Ethan. Donna didn't understand what Ethan meant.

"What do you mean, darling?" asked Donna. Ethan explains how children could be a handful as toddlers, preteens, and even Teenagers.

"Oh, come now, sweetheart," said Donna. "I'm sure it will be nothing like that," If only Donna knew about what life was like outside the Village.

Next Day:

The sun rises, and a new day begins. Donna and Ethan wake up in their bed and kiss each other good morning. They get out of bed, shower, and get dressed. The kids would wake up in their cribs, and the couple took them out to hold them in their arms. Donna and Ethan take their kids to the Kitchen and start breakfast. Donna hoped to raise her children in a more vegetarian manner, something that somewhat conflicted with Ethan considering he came from a family of meat eaters. Nevertheless, Ethan worked hard to adjust without eating meat. If he were to eat meat, he would do so with vegan-made items. Ethan and Donna would later read books to their children, which appealed to Rose and Aaron. Changing the diapers was easier for Aaron since he hardly pooped and peed in his diaper compared to his older sister.

After changing the diapers, Donna and Ethan played cute games with the kids and taught them how to walk, talk and stand on their own. Teaching the kids was difficult for Donna and Ethan, and they were determined to train Aaron and Rose as best they could.

One day, Ethan and Donna take the kids for a picnic at the tree where Ethan proposed to Donna. It became the family's favorite spot, and it was here where Donna and Ethan's lives changed forever. Ethan set up the Picnic as Donna took the kids out of their strollers. Aaron and Rose always enjoyed being held, either by their Mother or Father. The family sat down for their little picnic, and everything seemed perfect. It wasn't until Donna Beneviento sensed the presence of others.
