Two days have passed since Ethan returned home. The difficult procedure to remove the last bit of Ethan's mold greatly weakened him. Even so, Ethan remains convinced that it was worth it. Under Donna's care, Ethan slowly recovers. While he can move around the house, the doctors have advised him not to do any physical activities that could induce any kind of stress on the body. Nor is he in any position to do so because Donna won't let him. As for Donna herself, her heart is filled with joy that her beloved husband is alive. It would have brought Donna great pain if she had lost Ethan. Rosemary and Aaron remain asleep in their cribs, with two dolls serving as bodyguards. As for Bela, she continues to live with Donna and Ethan, doing what she can to help her Aunt and step-uncle whenever she can. At the same time, Bela considers the idea of undertaking the same procedure Ethan got to remove the mold from her system. While the exact results are not guaranteed, Bela remains hopeful that she can walk outside as a free woman. Even if it means giving up her powers and becoming a normal human again. A way of life that she hasn't known for one hundred years ever since she was turned. Nevertheless, Bela is determined to reclaim her humanity and is grateful to have the support of Donna and Ethan; Including Karl Heisenberg.

Donna, with her new explorer outfit gifted to her by Heisenberg (with khaki pants that come with straps and a white collared shirt), walks out to the front porch to find Ethan sitting on a wooden bench. Donna smiles with joy seeing Ethan's handsome face. Even though he's still wearing his gray pajamas and sleeping robe. Ethan looks to his right, smiling at Donna. She walks over to Ethan and sits beside him.

"You alright, darling?" Donna inquires. Ethan nods, taking Donna's hand in his.
"Of course, dear," Ethan speaks softly. His smile quickly fades and is replaced with a sad expression.
"I still feel a bit of pain from what happened though," Ethan wraps his arm around Donna's waist, as she places her hand on his chest.
"I'm sorry," Donna sighs.
"On the bright side, I'm glad I get to live to fight another day," Donna gives Ethan a concerned expression.
"Figuratively, I mean," Donna nods, happy that Ethan isn't even considering the idea of going back out into the world.
