"Put your wands away." I hissed as we landed, looking around to see if anyone had spotted us.

It seemed as though we were in the clear before a door swung open just as Sirius finished covering his wand with his shirt.

"Mrs. Bevan," I said as a head popped out of the opened door.

"Angela, honey!" She said coming over to me immediately. Of course I hadn't given her my real name, but in the time I had spent in the apartment, I had come to quite like her, "Did you hear that noise?"

She was an elegant woman, probably in her fifties. She wore her hair in an elegant twist, her pearl necklace and diamond ring beautifully understated. Her husband had passed away years before and her only child travelled the world as an international news journalist. I had gone over to Mrs. Bevan many times for a cup of tea, and on the odd occasion, lunch.

"Probably a car backfiring." I tried to be as nonchalant as possible while trying desperately to shove my key into the keyhole.

Mrs. Bevan was eyeing Sirius and Fabian skeptically.

"Who are your friends?"

"This is Pads and Kasabian." Sirius looked at me grinning, obviously amused by the inside joke, Fabian appeared less so.

"Pleased to meet you Mrs. Bevan." Sirius took her hand in both of his giving her his most dazzling smile. And what a smile it was.

And what a smile it was

"Please," she said a little flushed, "you can call me Kimberly."

I opened the door doing my best to get them away from her as quickly as possible.

"I'll pop in for some tea soon Mrs. Bevan." I said shoving Fabian through the door. I turned to see Sirius giving her a wink before disappearing into the apartment. I smiled to myself, he was charming, there was no doubt about that. I closed the door behind me breathing a sigh of relief.

"Lumos." Fabian muttered in the dark but I flicked a light switch. My apartment was just the way I had left it. There were books all over the place but really not much else in the way of personal effects. I found it was easier to leave for weeks at a time if I didn't really consider this place home. I tried not to place any value in material objects. As a place to keep my trunk from Hogwarts and a place to sleep occasionally, this was perfect. Fabian was doing a sweep of the rooms. When he came back he looked satisfied that there wasn't anyone else here. Of course, if someone had been in here, I would have been able to tell. None of my magical safeguards were broken.
