Just for one night

The end

The next morning Raghav woke up very early to catch a flight. He walked towards the bed to inform Siya. He didn't want her to be startled when she wakes up. He noticed few red marks on her skin, that were caused by his mouth. Something had gotten into him last night; he has not been this passionate and wild in years. Siya was sleeping with her face dug into the pillow. Raghav walked towards the edge of the bed and patted on her naked back gently to wake her up. She woke up and turned around. She had barely slept for 2 hours in the last two days which was making it very difficult for her to open her eyes. When she did, she saw Raghav all dressed up and she realized she was bare breasted in front of him. She instantly tried to cover her boobs with her hands. Raghav immediately pulled the blanket up to cover her so she could be comfortable. Siya was still processing the scene when he said "I have an early flight to I need to leave. You go back to sleep". She was confused, she asked "Shall I ... shall I just go back to my room". He said "No, you go back to sleep. I had ordered some breakfast for you, it's on the table. I will call you once I land". She didn't know what to say. This was supposed to be just for one night, what does he want to call her for. She wanted to clarify the same with Raghav but before she could muster some sense and strength to do that, Raghav bent down to grab her lips with his and gave her a kiss. Siya was now tongue tied... literally.

Siya went back to her room and ended up sleeping all day. She had a phone conversation with Raghav in the evening. Siya for some strange reason kept insisting to Raghav about last time being an exception. He didn't really take those statements seriously. It almost seemed like things might work out between then when Siya was given a shocking new by her aunt that Raghav was to get engaged to her cousin Nidhi. Siya was heartbroken and immediately blocked him everywhere an stopped all communication with him. She had also taken off from work and Raghav had no way to reach her. He didn't know what information had passed on to her he assumed she went into self-protection mode to maintain distance with him. After the night he had spent with her, Raghav had no doubt that Siya was into him. He decided to give her space which Siya assumed he was making a clean break so he could move on with Nidhi.

While Raghav's communication was broken with Siya. Rohit paid him a visit with a proposal for his sister. Raghav initially thought it was for Siya but instead it was for Nidhi. Raghav was not sharing the details of his relationship with Siya but made it very clear to Rohit that he had something going on with another woman and this proposal for Nidhi should be put to rest. Rohit pestered him to talk more about this mystery woman in Raghav's life. Raghav was forced to name Siya, but he made it very clear to Rohit that its currently one-sided and he has no clue if Siya feels the same way about him. Rohit was shocked by Raghav's choice and remembered being yelled at during his wife's baby shower. Rohit warned Raghav saying "Be careful man, there is something shady going on. She had some major medical issues. Her parents might be trying to cover it up. You are my brother, so I am warning you". Raghav did not react to his words. Rohit went on to provide a brilliant sales pitch about his other sister. Raghav was in desperate hurry to change the topic and agreed to everything thing said by Rohit. After having his second baby he particularly thought himself to be an expert in marital relationships and Raghav saw no point in correcting him. Moreover, he couldn't tolerate his words used for Siya or her family.

A week later, there was another function. Rohit's baby's naming ceremony. Raghav wouldn't miss this as this was his chance to meet Siya. She attended the function very late. She was dressed in a simple green anarkali dress and looked like the saddest creature on Earth. She constantly maintained a vibrant smile but anyone who knew her who know it was hoax. Fortunately for her, not many people in that room knew her a teeny bit. She avoided all eye contacts with Raghav not even for courtesy sake. He did not follow her around to make her uncomfortable. He was still not sure how she could have been so immature and unreasonable. 

His confusion was soon clarified when Rohit raised a topic of Raghav's engagement with Nidhi infront of her parents. The conversation happened around the dining table and the room was filled with all the elders. Raghav got an idea that all the people around him were already planning his wedding with Nidhi. He realized the source of this misunderstanding was his beloved cousin Rohit. "Damn! Siya was right about him. He really is a dumbass" thought Raghav. He eventually realized the reason behind her silent treatment after spending the night of his life with her. 

He decided to clarify everything immediately and said, "I think there is a misunderstanding, I'm sorry I want to marry Siya not Nidhi". People were confused and there were a few murmurs. 

Siya heard his words and reacted hastily "Are you kidding me! You think you are out shopping and picking whatever suits your mood. You really are a self-centered, arrogant bas....". Siya turned around grabbed her bag and decided to leave when Raghav called her name loudly. Suddenly the room grey quiet. 

He said, "I'm sorry this is happening infront of everyone like this, but it is all because of the misunderstanding created by your dear brother". He continued "No offense to anyone here, but I really want to marry you and I know you want the same". Siya started to walk away when she was blocked by her own brother. Her brother knew something was going on, but he now got to know that the man was Raghav. He wanted his sister to hear him out. Siya was losing her mind and getting furious. 

Raghav continued "I'm sorry I walked away from you after knowing about your... your medical situation. But in my defense. I only just like you then". 

"And now..." asked Siya. 

"And now... I am in love with you," said Raghav. 

As soon as she heard those words from his mouth, tears started to roll out of her eyes. She said "what do you think you are doing; you think I need your pity. You really are a self-centered, arrogant bastard". People around started rolling their eyes listening to her language. 

Raghav replied calmly saying "Oh come-on Siya!". 

She calmed down and answered "I cannot give you what you want in your life. I cannot live with that. This will not work. I'm sorry but you were right before. This cannot work". 

Raghav asked, "If our roles were reversed, would you walk away from me?". 

She answered "never!". She continued "You are too late. I can't do this. You shouldn't have created a scene here like this. I can't do this." 

Her uncle, Nidhi's father walked towards Siya. She was scared to face him. He must have been so disappointed in Siya today. He came to Siya and hugged her in his arms, and she burst out in tears. Raghav stood there... speechless.

A week later, they were married in a simple ceremony. They both looked like the happiest people to ever get married. Siya was the perfect bride there was and he was the coolest groom. They had their ups and downs, but they stood by each other in all of those. After a lot of struggles and tries after four years they were blessed with twin boys. All the worries that Siya ever had about her future vanished in thin air. She was happy with a beautiful little family of her own. It turned out it wasn't 'just for a night'... it was just forever!
