Pesky pixie

I had asked a few Ravenclaws a couple years above me if they knew anything about the grey lady, where she usually was or anything useful.

All of them had said the same thing, they didn't know where she usually was and that she basically popped up randomly around the common room. Determined I sat in the common room until half two in the morning to try and get a chance to talk to her. I'm not really sure why I wanted to so much but the way how she stared at me during the feast and then promptly vanished without another word made me want to ask her why.

An entire year I was here last year and I didn't see her again after the start of year feast. Why was a ghost avoiding me?

I wanted to find out but it didn't matter how long I stayed in the common room I'd fallen asleep after two am.

"Nova!" A third year was shaking me awake on the first day of school, I half opened my eyes and saw it was Cho Chang. I'd only really spoken to her a couple times but she was weirdly nice all the time.

"What?" I grumbled, they really needed to make these sofa's less comfortable and then maybe I wouldn't be falling asleep all the time. It was a safety hazard.

"Breakfast ends in fifteen minutes!" She said to me and then took off.

"Gods sake." I muttered as I jumped up and ran up the stairs to my dorm.

I chucked my uniform on messily and quickly grabbed my hair brush from my trunk, I glanced at the necklace I had stolen a year ago from Borgin and Burkes and thought for a second about wearing in under my uniform before slamming the trunk shut.

I brushes through my black knotty hair quickly before making a break for the grand hall.

When I ran into the grand hall, some eyes snapped to me as I sprinted over to the Ravenclaw table on the far end and flew into my seat just as our timetables were being given out.

"You look a mess." Luke commented as he eyed me over.

"Thanks." I said grumpily.

"Oh there you are." Atlanta looked up from her cereal.

"'Oh there you are' Thanks for waking me up." I grumbled.

"You looked very peaceful." Luke said smirking.

"I told them to wake you up but this idiot said not to." Adeline jerked her thumb at Will who was swallowing eggs and bacon like it was an eating contest, not looking at anyone.

"Why wouldn't you wake me up?" I said to him and he finally raised his head.

He shrugged, "You haven't been sleeping a lot. Thought you could do with the rest."

"Who are you and what have you done with Will?" I smirked though it was true, my nightmares were getting more frequent and I wasn't sleeping a lot.

He scoffed, smiling and went back to his breakfast.

"Why did you fall asleep in the common room again?" Atlanta asked me.

"I was trying to spot the grey lady." I said.

"Our house ghost? Why?" She asked.

I shrugged. "I don't know, I just wanna find her."

"She wouldn't be in the common room at night." Adeline suddenly said as she filled a cup of orange juice.

My eyes snapped to hers. "How do you know?"

"She isn't very talkative at night. I suspect she goes to the north tower." She said dreamily.
