"I'm scared."

"I know," The little girl signed, rubbing her exhausted eyes. "I won't be gone long."

"You always say that." The boy stuck his pale chin under his bony knee.

The girl was too tired to answer back, she only tilted her head to the ceiling; the crystal chandelier casting a dome of stars around the room.

"Why can't I go instead?" The boy suddenly asked, his lip jutting out slightly.

The girl snapped her eyes open. "They don't need you like they need me."

"Because of the blue?" His little light blue eyes snapped to the girls' hands that were clenched into small pale fists.

She nodded slowly. "Because of the blue."

"Can you do blue before you go?" The boy looked up at the girl with eyes full of tears.

"Yeah," The girl said softly. "Close your eyes." She said as she wiped the few tears that had escaped their way from the boys eyelashes.

The boy grinned through closed eyes as the girl whispered, "Open them."

And then the room lit up.

I'd half expected Atlanta to come back from Christmas break with an apology, i was apparently very wrong. It seemed over the break she had decided to just not acknowledge me at all, this included Will, Adeline and Luke as she was mad at them for talking to me.

The whole thing was confusing to say the least, she accuses me of being an attempted murder and somehow I'm the one in the wrong. I was upset that Atlanta wasn't talking to me but I wouldn't let her know that.

I'd been avoiding her as much she was as me to be honest, If she was the only girl in the dorm and I wanted to grab something I would just use my newly acquired bracelet--which I was still dumfounded by. I'd decided not to tell Janie and just do my own research ; at the minute I was waiting for a book Slater: the truth to become available, Adeline told me--the girl had already read half the library's contents--that she'd heard something about it having a bracelet like mine in there so my plan was to check that out and go from there.

Until then I was trying to lay low.

"NOVA." My name was shouted at me as I was shaken awake by three girls.

I blinked and Gia Castillo, Padma Patil, and Adeline were standing over me with wide eyes and excited giggles.

"Who have you murdered now?" I scoffed as I rubbed my eyes. Probably should of chosen a better choice of words considering people were really almost getting murdered but it was seven in the morning and I had three tween girls standing over me like I was the next issue of witch weekly.

"Nova I can't believe it, I think I'm going faint." Padma leaned into Gia with a hand placed dramatically over her forehead.

"Addy?" I asked with sudden curiosity.

She grabbed my hands, pulling me out of the warmth of my cosy bed and threw my school uniform at me, "Get dressed, I've got to show you something." She giggled.

I bearly had my satin blue tie on before I was being dragged out the dorm door and down the stairs into the common room where students were talking in loud excited voices, gushing over pink and red coloured cards in their hands--when I suddenly remembered what today was.
