Chapter Sixty Seven

Genesis’s P.O.V
It has been a few weeks since the defeat of Voldemort and I was having a funeral for dad soon and once everything had been arranged and once I had gotten ready, I heard a knock on the door and once I opened it, I saw that it was Harry, “are you ready to go?” he asked and I nodded, “I think so.” I said to him before I walked out of the house and after locking up, the both of us left and made it to where dad's funeral was going to be at and saw a few more people there, “I asked a few people if they could come. Some of them came to support you.” he said to me, “you didn’t have to do that.” I said to him, “I wanted to, I knew you needed the support.” he said to me, “thank you.” I said to him and he went on with the Funeral. Once the funeral was over, everyone headed home and once I had gotten home with Harry, I felt off about being here alone after everything that had happened recently and I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard Harry speak up, “do you want me to stay with you?” he asked and I nodded, “if you don’t mind.” I said to him, “I don’t mind. Why don’t we get changed then.” he said and we had done so and once the both of us had gotten changed and just spent time together and at some point, I noticed that he had brought his photo album that Hagrid had given him at the end of our First Year, “do you want to have a look through it?” I asked him, “alright” he said and we began to look through it as I remembered every single one of them as if it were yesterday before I looked around and found a few dad had kept around the house before we went through them all and found a few pictures of mom and dad together while she was pregnant with me, “I never thought your dad had ever been so happy before. He always looked miserable all the time.” Harry mentioned and I sighed a little, “I know, I guess my mom was the only reason he had of ever being happy. I don’t know if I ever made him feel that way but I hope I did somehow.” I said to him, “you do have your mothers eyes though.” he said to me and I smiled a little, “I guess I do.” I said to him and the both of us just spent the rest of the night looking through pictures and telling the stories behind them all before the both of us had gone to bed.

It was another day and I decided to start looking for a job and after a few tries, I managed to get an interview at a local Cafe nearby the house and once I had gotten there, It managed to go by quickly and I was able to get the job on the spot and that I started the next day and once I got home later that day, I noticed Harry sitting on the couch, “how did it go? Did you get the job?” he asked me and I nodded, “yup she hired me on the spot.” I said as I sat next to him, “that’s good. I’m probably just going to stick with the Auror situation” he said to me, “that’s good. Is that something you want to do?” I said to him and he nodded, “yeah. After everything that happened recently, it would be nice to catch the remainder of the Death Eater’s who had joined him willingly along with other Criminals.” he said to me, “you need a haircut.” I said as I noticed that his hair was getting a little long and he looked at it, “Yeah, I guess you’re right. Do you mind cutting it for me?” he said and I nodded, “sure, grab a chair and meet me in the kitchen” I said as I got up and looked for scissors, a comb and a spray bottle before heading back to the kitchen and began cutting Harry’s hair for him. Once I was done, I combed out his hair and gave him a mirror so he could look at it, “does it look alright?” I asked him, “it looks great. Thank you.” he said and I smiled before he got up and helped me clean everything up before the both of us started getting hungry and noticed that there wasn’t much in the fridge and the both of us decided to get a few things for the house before making it back and started cooking together and had a few laughs together until we finished cooking and just spent the time talking about everything until we were done and brought our dishes to the kitchen and washed them until the both of us had gotten changed into something comfortable before the both of us decided to watch a movie together until we decided to go to bed. 

As a couple of weeks had passed and it was almost Harry Birthday and I had been planning something for him and told Ron and Hermione about it as well and and the three of us had planned something for him and once we were done, we were gad it was just in time for his birthday and Ron’s family was there along with a few others like Seamus, Cho, Dean, Neville and Luna and once we saw him walk through the door, we shouted, “SURPRISE.” we all said at the same time and I smiled when I saw his reaction, “what’s this all about?” He asked us, “It's your surprise birthday party. It was Genesis’s Idea.” Hermione told him and he looked at me and smiled before kissing me cheek before we noticed a flash and looked to see that it was Hermione taking a picture, “sorry. Didn’t want to miss it.” she said to us before taking the picture out from the Camera that she had and let us look at it before we went on with the Party and once we had all finished eating, Harry started opening presents that everyone had gotten him but before he could start, we heard a knock on the door and I furrowed my brows a little before walking over to the door before opening it to see that it was his Aunt, “come in. I thought you weren’t going to be able to make it.” I said to her before she walked in causing Harry to stand up, “Aunt Petunia. What are you doing here?” he asked her, “your friend had invited me. Said she thought it would be a good idea considering everything you’d been through. I also came for my sister as well knowing she would have wanted me to be here.” she told him, “please, have a seat.” I said to her, “thank you” she said and she sat down before we continued with what we were doing before and after a while, people started to leave and Petunia was the only one left, “Harry, I need to speak with you please.” she said to him, “I’ll be in the other room.” I said and before I took a step, she spoke up, “no it’s fine. I wanted to apologize for the time you’ve spent with Vernon and myself. After everything that’s happened between your mother and myself, I guess I can say I may have put my anger out on you and for that I am sorry, truely. I know I probably don’t deserve it, but I hope that you can accept it.” she told him and it looked like he thought about it before speaking up, “I will accept it but it will take time” he told her, “I understand, I will try and get Vernon and Dudley to do the same but I know it will take some time with Dudley.” she told him and Harry nodded before she looked at me, “I’m glad he has someone like you dear. You’re a very sweet girl.” she said to me, “thank you.” I said to her before she walked out of the house and Harry let out a sigh as he sat down, “thank you for this.” he said to me and I sat down next to him on the couch, “you’re welcome.” I said to him, “I’m surprised she even came in the first place. They never really treated me right over the years but I’m glad she’s willing to give it a chance.” he said to me, “then I’m glad I invited her then.” I said to him and both of us chuckled before we continued to hang out for a while before going to bed that night.

Harry’s P.O.V
It has been about a year since since everything had happened and recently, I had been planning something as I wanted to take her out since we hadn’t gone on a date since the both of us had gotten together and and once I had help from Hermione, I was finally ready to tell Genesis about tonight, “hey Genesis, where are you?” I said to her as I walked through the door, “I’m in the kitchen” she said and I went over to her and handed her some flowers, “what’s this about? These do smell nice and they look beautiful. Thank you.” she said as she took them and smelt them,

“I thought we could go out tonight. We haven’t really gone on a date since we started dating.” I told her as she put them in a vase, “that’s true, we never got to. Alright then, do I need to wear anything specific?” she said and I shook my head, “no, nothing in particular.” I told her and she smiled and the both of us had gotten ready

I managed to put what I had gotten earlier into my Jacket pocket for the time being until the right moment came around and once we were done getting ready, I saw Genesis and I just stood there looking at her in awe, “you look beautiful.” I said to her, “thanks. You don’t look too bad yourself.” she said to me, “are you ready to go?” I asked her and she nodded and the both of us walked out and left after locking up and we had decided to walk around London for a while until we found a place to eat at and I was starting to get nervous about when I was going to ask her, “Harry, are you alright? You seem a little pale?” she asked me, “I’m fine. I’m alright.” I said to her and after we finished, I just looked at her as she looked out at the view and I smiled a little wondering how someone like me ended up with someone like her until I finally decided to ask her what I’ve been getting nervous about and I stood up and finally got down on one knee.
