I stood at the entrance of a large building, it just looked like a big cabin with lots of pretty dim lights, I couldn't seem to remember who actually lived here.

Music was loud, but not unbearably loud, I could still manage to hear people talking inside, I opened the door and walked in, and like Lexi said, nobody really cared, I scanned the place to search for Lexi, or anyone I knew, really, it was already a bit past 7, so Lexi should be here by now.

I weaved through people, a lot of them I didn't recognize at all, my eyes were suddenly drawn to a beautiful girl with long honey colored hair, she sat on the stairs surrounded by a small group of people.

Lexi.

I made my way over, but then stopped, I felt awkward approaching with so many people near her, Lexi turned her head on my direction, "Ryan!" She called, waving me over, a small part of me was calmed by her acknowledgement.

"Hey.." I smiled, hoping my voice didn't give away how awkward I felt, I sat down next to her, Lexi smiled.

"This is Ryan! He's like one of my best friends," I exchanged greetings with the group, all of which I've never met before, which made me give a small frown, I couldn't help but wonder when she had made the time to make all these friends.

Lexi leaned forward, "So! Who's Reed?" She asked, curiosity glittered in her brown eyes, I felt myself stiffen.

"Who?" I asked, raising an eyebrow, Lexi rolled her eyes as if I was inconveniencing her.

"The girl your friend was talking about! She's your lover, right?" Lexi asked a bit louder, I noticed people began to look, I frowned, part of me wanted to say Reed wasn't even a girl, another part of me wished she'd stop talking.

"I don't have a lover." I frowned, "I already told you I didn't, why can't you just believe me?" I asked, almost desperately, Lexi didn't look convinced, but before she could answer, a familiar dirty blond joined in, a cup in his hand.

Bernie stood in front of me and Lexi, his dark blue eyes seemed to be looking into my soul, "What lover?" He asked before turning to Lexi, "We'd have heard about it no? He's not exactly a ladies man," Lexi cracked a smile, and I heard people giggle, I awkwardly scratched at my palm.

"Funny, I don't remember you getting much attention either," I huffed, though, I knew a lot of people secretly liked Bernie, but were just too scared to approach him as they tended to get rejected, he was attractive, and he was aware of it, Bernie's gaze snapped in my direction, Lexi smiled bigger, and the giggling got louder.

Bernie flashed a fake smile, "Ah, it's been too long since we've hung out." He sat down a on the stair below us, causing me to have to move my legs, "Lexi told me you had a girl over," Bernie took a sip of his drink, "I haven't heard of her, she your mate?" He asked, taking a other sip, "That's good then, you both could come to these last few weeks of partying with us before we try for a baby, we should have kids around the same time, cool right?" Bernie asked, a fake bright smile plastered on his face, my face started to scowl.

Bernie's face changed to fake concern, "What's wrong?... Is she not your mate?..." He asked with fake solemn, "Sorry.. maybe I was getting too excited for you..." People now started to laugh, and I felt quite a bit stupid, I clenched my jaw.

"How thoughtful." I growled, Lexi's eyebrows furrowed.

"He didn't know.. he was just happy for you Ryan," Lexi cut in, I looked at her and frowned.

"You don't really think he was actually congratulating me do you...?"

"Of course I was!" Bernie cut back in, "We've been friends forever, who wouldn't I be happy about you finding your mate and being able to have kids at the same time?" Bernie pretended to look offended, but the corner of his lips gave away him holding back a smirk.

"See?" Lexi huffed, "Geez Ryan, you're so weird nowadays." She turned her head to look the other way, I got up.

"Screw you..." I muttered under my breath, both of them snapped their necks to look at me.

"Excuse me?" Bernie asked, I glared at him.

"Screw you. Both of you." I growled, louder this time, Bernie stood up, I felt awkward, even with him standing on the stair below me, we were the same height, and stronger than me, suddenly he grabbed my arm and tossed me off the stairs, not being able to catch myself, I fell to the floor.

The house echoed in laughing and people quickly talking about a fight, I felt my ears burn, I quickly got to my feet, Lexi was now also standing, she stared at me with a look of disdain, her face which was once so beautiful to me, I suddenly found very ugly.

"Don't come look for me anymore," I growled, turning around to walk away.

"Where are you going?" Bernie asked, he stepped down from the stairs, "Who said you could just walk away?"

"Just let him." Lexi huffed, "What else do you want to do to him? It's not like he has any other friends anyway." Expectedly, people continued to laugh, along with sighs of disappointment at the fight ending before it could start.

I felt my eyes start to water and my vision blurred, the laughing was so loud I could hardly hear myself think, it rung throughout my ears.

I left the cabin and turned my head to glance at it once, the place where I had my first real heartbreak.

A few tears fell down my face, and I quickly wiped it away, but I couldn't help it, everything seemed to have turned to shit.

I couldn't run back to my family, and now I had no friends I could turn to, everything suddenly felt so hopeless.

I stopped breathing as I felt eyes bore through me, taking a chance to look up, a pair of familiar green eyes stared at me, gorgeous brown fur shone under the night sky, only a few feet away, I managed to swallow the lump in my throat.

"....Reed?..." He didn't move, it was hard to see him in the dark, I looked back down and slowly made my way over.
