a/n pre-warning this won't be the most entertaining as I don't know how to make airship fighting sound interesting. Anyway, this is one of the last parts of Guardians of the Galaxy. Enjoy

"I'm sorry Ms Hill, but Mr Stark is unavailable at the moment, may I pass on a message?" JARVIS said, interrupting the on-hold music that was starting to make me lose my patience. However hearing that Tony wasn't available to talk was surprising, I was sure Bruce had said Tony was in the lab. But checking the time and hearing a hoard of footsteps, I decided against questioning it.

"Oh... no that's all right JARVIS, just uh pass on that I said hello, and I hope he is well"

"Very well, goodbye Ms Hill and good luck on your intergalactic endeavour" The AI had said, with an almost human solemn tone. Quirking a brow I smile,

"Thank you, J, goodbye," I say ending the call and leaving my room, making my way to the boarding area, where all of the ships are stored and being prepared for battle. Seeing Gamora and Peter walking onto their ship I walk to the smaller one next to them and enter, taking a seat next to Rocket who looks at me fleetingly.

"Good, I was starting to think I would be flying solo" Rocket snarks, I huff buckling into my seat and adjust the height of the settings of the joystick and panel. "And leave you to fly this beauty by yourself" he chuckles, looking over at me with furrowed brows. "You alright?"

"mmh, are you?" he shrugs before turning the engine on and we start flying out of the ravager ship and into the Xandarian atmosphere. Flying fast we descend as I also use my controls to aid in the flight, as a forcefield is projected into the space before the enemy ship and the city below.

"Rocket Hurry" Peter calls through the intercom, making me grit my teeth. Flying faster and upward toward the enemy ship Rocket flies us into position whilst other ships follow us and help us in shooting Ronan's ship.

Forcefully pushing the lever which fires the ship's weapons Rocket and I share a look as the enemy ship begins to surge forward, yet our attacks are still damaging the exterior slowly until a hole is blown through and giving us the signal to call on Peter and Yondu. Looking back while Rocket relays the message I curse as I notice how far away Peter and Yondu are. "Rocket, should we turn around and help clear them a path?" I ask. Rocket looks and grumbles before turning us around, and we both begin blasting the enemy ships trying our best to clear a path, but one of the ships shoots Yondu out of the sky, causing his ship to spin before plummeting.

More and more enemy ships take out Ravager one, nervously I look over at Rocket whose face is scrunched up and focused. "Rocket there are too many of them" Gamora calls through the intercom, "She's right Rocket" I mumble, whilst Rocket shouts annoyed. However, I gasp excitedly as I notice Xandar ships soaring through the sky and helping us out.

"Peter Quill. This is Denarian Saal of the Nova Corps. For the record, I advised against trusting you here" Saal calls through the intercom, making me smile remembering when Peter gave them an interesting message... With the extra help, Peter can fly over to us and through the hole into Ronan's ship, whilst they fly in we take off and continue blasting other ships.

After a while, a shadow is cast over us, prompting us to look up. "Oh man," Rocket exclaims as Ronan's ship continues to advance toward Xandar, "What are we going to do?" I ask, more so rhetorically which seemed to gain response as the Nova Corps ships began to interlock and form a giant forcefield in Ronan's path, preventing him from progressing further.

Cheering Rocket and I fistbump as we watch the ship begin to slow down, however that moment of glory turned to horrifying as the smaller ships began to duck dive down toward the city and began firing on the innocent people of Xandar. "Rocket we got to go down there" I call, taking over and descending us down toward the city. pulling up so we are hovering over the streets of the city, surging forward and blasting an enemy ship just as it was about to kill a group of Xandarians.

"Keep Ronan up there Saal, We'll take care of the people down here," Rocket says, looking at me with a smirk. "We got this humie" Rocket says, I furrow my brows side eyeing him as we fly toward another ship. "Humie?" "Yeah, y'know human isn't that what you said you were" I huff a laugh "Ok touche, Ket" I respond, now it was his turn to look at me almost surprised. "Ket? What does it mean, please don't say it's an alternative for rodents" Rocket cringes, I shake my head laughing as we save a family. "No! No Ket as it Roc-Ket, Get it?" I say he laughs. "Ok I don't hate it humie"

---

Growing tired of flying around after enemy ships, I come up with an idea. Taking charge of the controls I position so we are pointing up into the sky, facing where all the ships are descending. "Everybody shoots them before they hit the ground" I call over the intercom, Rocket hums intrigued by my idea as he grips the joystick and begins blasting the oncoming ships as we face upwards.

Competing against each other became a new pastime, during the battle with Ket winning marginally, though I wouldn't let him know. However, our bickering came to an end when we heard Ronan's voice blast over the speakers.

"XANDAR! You stand accused. Your wretched peace treaty will not save you now" Looking over at Rocket he looks back at me trying to not show his fear as we watch the Nova Corps shield begin to bend and stretch as Ronan's ship continued to plough through it. "It is the tinder on which you burn," Ronan says before a blast of purple can be seen shooting out of the ship and disturbing the Nova Corps Shield, destroying the ships in the immediate area of the shield, and causing an explosion to rupture all interlocking links, thereby destroying more Nova Corps ships. And allowing more enemy ships to fly down.

One ship even manages to hit us with its debris, causing a crack in our windscreen. "Bloody hell" I mumble as Rocket ducks, before looking back up at the forcefield, which is quickly losing its strength. "Rocket!" Saal yells over the intercom, his voice strained, his tone is a giveaway that he is dying.

"Hold on Saal!" I try to say, as Rocket also encourages him before we hear his final yell over the intercom as his ship is destroyed, pierced by Ronan's ship. His explosion caused more of the forcefield to fall, as more and more ships combust until the Shield is dropped completely and Ronan's ship begins to fall quickly toward Xandar.

"Quill you got to hurry" Rocket calls as we watch with trepidation as the fate of Xandar looms with Ronan's ship progressing quickly. I press down on the intercom button "The city's been evacuated but-" "-but we're getting our asses kicked down here" Rocket finishes.

"Gamora hasn't opened the door" Peter responds, making me curse, knowingly they will be about to engage with Ronan and we are stuck down here. Rocket seemingly on the same wavelength looks to me. "How about we make an entrance Humie?" I chuckle nodding as we fly toward Ronan's ship. "After you Ket"

Flying as fast as we can we became level with the ship and located where they were which meant we also saw Ronan choking Drax, pushing harder to fly faster Rocket began yelling which prompted me to yell so when we flew in and knocked Ronan, Drax and probably the rest of the group whilst damaging our ship. I stopped yelling as I realised how stupid this was.

"Shit"
