Someone did sit next to her, it was as she hoped, Matthew Murdock.

"Y/n" He greeted tucking his guiding stick into his lap. She smiled. "Matt, I hoped I would run into you again" she mused he chuckled, "You did?" he questions she nodded looking down before looking at him briefly. "I needed to know you were, just making sure my lawyer hadn't been beaten into a pulp by the gala's host" Out of the corner of her eyes she saw him tense, his shoulders broadening as he looked down.

"I don't know what you mean-" "Let's not pretend that you aren't the man running around chasing after a mobster in a black mask" He hummed. "I suppose even if I tried to deny your claims you would ignore me" She nodded. "Yeah...I know you are getting close to getting him behind bars, I know you showed up in Avengers Tower so I assumed you have questions about me as well" He hummed

"I do, but I also don't think you would be willing to answer them" He mused

I like him, Mal murmured. Rain chuckled. Of course you do, he is a vigilante believing he is doing what others can't....I do too

"You are correct, I won't answer your questions. But I want to know what is your plan. How does it end" She spoke carefully, still actively aware that they were in public. "It ends with Wilson Fisk in prison, and the exposure of the corruption in Hell's Kitchen" She chuckled. "No kiddin'" She muses remembering when dirty cops almost beat her into a pulp.

He huffs before standing, quickly taking his guiding stick out before offering her a hand up. She eyes the guiding stick opening her mouth before he chuckles. "Yes, I am blind... it's not an act" He answers for her, closing her agape mouth she looks at him tilting her head as her eyes close quickly before narrowing in on him. "What? How did you- Are you telepathic?" She questions lowering her voice. He laughs as he shakes his head.

"No, No-" he laughs, as they begin to walk away from the bench. "I'm not blind, but I do have vision... it's difficult to explain but without sight, everything else is emphasised... arguable past that of normal, but it means I can hear your heartbeat accelerating, like your anxiety building up to ask me something that may come across as rude" he trails off

Her eyes go wide as she places a hand on his bicep pausing their walk as she turns to him. "That's so cool" She exclaims before her eyes droop. "I'd imagine you don't tell many people this?" he nods "I don't, but it also allows me to gain a better judgment of people, and I can tell you are weighed down by anguish. Burden" She wanted to ask how he knew this, was it her heart? Her breathing? Or was he just using this as an excuse to check in?

Without thinking or realising her eyes begin to water, before she chuckles wetly. "This has completely derailed what I wanted to talk to you about" She sighs looking up at the sky to stop her tears. "I- I didn't mean to make up upset" Matt worries, but she shakes her head. "No, no you didn't. It's just... you made it sound so simple" "Made what sound simple?" He queries and she looks down over at him with a sad smile.

"How it feels, I know I should feel motivated or enlightened to be dubbed special and given the extra capabilities... but-" "You don't and that is fine too" Matt cuts. But the woman shakes her head. "Is it? Because I know people expect me to be fine with this added weight, but I don't know if I can be" She explains surprised with herself, for how vulnerable she is around him. Maybe because no one truly asked how she was, or anyone outside of her mind for that matter.

Matt smiled softly placing his hand over hers. "Whether you can be or can't, it isn't something you have to be" He spoke carefully. "I'm not the greatest preacher for expressing oneself nor do I recommend you deem me the person for you to confine in, but just know whatever role you have, is the role designed for you, no one else but you"
