Here's part 2 sorry it took so long. You can go and reread part 1 so you remember what's happening."Oh thank god she's asleep" Maya whispered as she kept hold of the little one in her arms.
"Maya" Carina carefully spoke as she doesn't know what her wife has been through the past day or so.
"I'm sorry for walking out on you this morning. I'm just so lost and frustrated and I took my anger out on the one person who I can truly count on. I'm so so sorry Carina. I love you so much please don't leave me" Maya started to get worked up but tried to remain calm for the little girl in her arms.
"Bambina no, I would never leave you I love you too much. We do need to get you some help though and maybe we could even take a few days for us to get back to, well, us" Carina spoke softly not wanting to push Maya or speak too loudly for the girl in her wife's arms.
Something confused Carina though, Maya said 'this morning' but it was yesterday morning when she went for a run.
"Ummm Maya... Belina, what do you mean this morning?" Carina hesitantly asks not sure what the blondes reaction will be.
Turning slightly so she has a better view of her wife she begins "This morning we were in bed and I... I tried to wrap my arms around you but you push me away and went to the bathroom" while saying this Maya couldn't look her wife in the eye, she was ashamed about what has been going on. She held the little girl closer to her for some comfort something Carina had picked up on, sighing a little but not wanting to make it obvious.
It was obvious to her though that her wife was feeling extremely anxious and a bit scared. She wasn't sure what she was scared of. 'Was it the reaction to Maya explaining what had happened this morning? Was it about what happened while see was missing? Was it about their marriage? Was it about the conversation that they needed to have about what's been going on the past few months? Was it about the little girl?' The Italian didn't know.
Maya continued on "then I went for a run. I couldn't stop I needed to feel something other than numbness. I ended up here though in these woods."
"Okay bambina. It's okay you don't need to talk" Her firefighter sounds like a little girl who woke up from a nightmare which is why Carina said she doesn't need to talk anymore.
Giving her wife a kiss on her forehead she pulls the two of them closer so she can hold them.
One thing that struck the Italian was the fact that her wife doesn't know that she's been away for nearly 40 hours.
Trying not to worry about that right now as being a doctor Carina knows it could be a trauma response. However, seeing Maya now, with a sleeping girl in her arms she couldn't help feel a little bit giddy. She couldn't help but picture their future children playing in the garden with her wife.
Frowning a little and trying to shake the imagine out of her head as she also pictured little Clara. The girl who her wife is currently holding on to death life, playing as well.
Looking up Maya signals one of the paramedics to come closer. As a firefighter she knows they need to do their job but as someone who has been with the girl the entire time and knows what she has been through, she felt heart broken every time she felt Clara tense up or her cries and screams. She just wanted to run away with her and hide her away from the big bad world and keep her safe.
"I take it you got her to sleep" the paramedics spoke as he came closer.
"I did yes but please keep your voice down as she could wake up any minute" Maya was a little annoyed as he didn't try to whisper or keep quiet.
