It was a long night at the station for the team. Call after call. They had managed to get back around four AM from a trailer that someone was illegally living in that had caught fire.
Collapsing into her bunk Maya fell straight asleep the minute her head hit the pillow. Her alarm went off at 6 deciding to just ignore it and turn it off she fell right back asleep until the klaxon went off. Again.
A few fucks and come ons could be heard throughout the station as the team raced down to the barn jumping in their gear.
"What was that three hours sleep" Warren said as they were on route to the fire.
"Something like that" Travis yawned.
"Alright team we have a house fire. It is reported that the father is still in the house while the mother and two kids are out I want Hughes and Montgomery to put a hose on the east side. Warren I want you to on medical, check the mom and kids for smoke inhalation."
"Gibson and Cutler I want you to check to make sure the gas is cut off and to put a hose on the west side and make sure it doesn't spread even more. Herrera as we are a man down you and I are going in to look for the father." Maya railed off as she jumped out the truck and looked at the scene. The reason they were a man down is because Sullivan had went on vacation with a few of his buddies that he grew up with.
The mother ran over to them and shouted "my husband is in there you have to help him!!"
"Mam mam please take a breath we are planning to go in to get him. Do you have any idea where he could be?" Captain Maya Bishop asked as she held on the the hysterical women.
"He.. he said something about going to the bathroom then the next thing I knew the kids woke me up screaming and we ran out. I thought he came with us" she cried while holding on to the arms of the blonde.
"Okay WARREN! Take this women make sure she's properly checked out" shaking the women off of her she met up with Andy to explain the plan. "We go in do a sweep of the ground floor, then do a sweep on the second. The wife said her husband had to go to the bathroom. So make sure to double check them" Andy nodded as they made their way into the burning house masked up.
"Is it me or is it hotter than normal" Andy questioned.
"No it's not just you. Gibson" Bishop radioed
"Yes Cap"
"Has the gas been turned off"
"Yes Cap. Is everything okay"
"It's fine just a little hot"
"Well the house is on fire Bishop"
"He's such a smart ass" Andy commented
"Put this fire out Gibson!" Maya replied to him while rolling her eyes.
Just then they heard movement upstairs that wasn't to do with the fire getting into the structure. That movement led to shouting. It was the man that belonged to the wife and kids outside.
"Let's go!" Both firefighters shouted at the same time. The two carefully made their way up the stairs to make sure the stairs where there when they went back and made their way to the man shouting for help.
As they got to the top of the stairs they saw him trying to find a clear way through the fire. "Sir can you hear Me" Andy shouted catching his attention.
"You have to get my kids out they're rooms are right there" he sputtered trying to cover his mouth and nose with his arm to stop the smoke getting into his lungs.
"Sir my name is Captain Maya Bishop we are from Station 19. Sir your family are outside waiting for you they all made it out now you have to come with us now so we can get you out safely."
