"Let go of me!" I growled as Mark gripped my arms tightly. Dark wrestled with Ethan at the other end of the room, he reached down into his pants and pulled out the handgun. "Oh no you don't!" Ethan snarled, grabbing the weapon and trying to pull it from Dark's hand. The gun fired bullets shot around the room, distracting Mark and allowing me to slip out of his grip. "Grab him!" He shouted to Ethan. Dark bit Ethan's hand and he released his grip with a yelp, he then kneed him in the crotch before running to the window. "Come on!" He called to me. He jumped through and I followed, I felt fingers touch my leg but I slipped away just in time.

"Grab them! Don't let them get away!"

We shot across the carpark and quickly scrambled over the fence, flashlights and shouting filling the air as guards poured out of the building. "We did it!" I called to Dark as we ran in the direction of the town. "Yeah!" Dark puffed. "Told you we could!" I dove into a nearby busshelter and Dark joined me, we slumped against the plastic wall and caught our breaths. "I...knew we could do it." Dark clutched his chest, "now we just need to find our parents." He turned to me and smiled. I didn't share his enthusiasm, if my mother wasn't there then where was she? Had she already been bought on and enslaved?

"Anti?"

I turned to Dark slowly, he tilted his head at me. "If they weren't there, then where are they?" I mused, turning to look at the cars rushing past. "We'll find them, Anti. We can't just give up." He replied, I felt his cold hand rest on my leg. "That's easy for you to say. What if mother's a slave? Serving some disgusting human, doing all their bidding and still being punished even though she's done the job correctly?" I gritted my teeth and held my tears back. "Sometimes I wish we all met the same fate as my father...put out of our misery before the humans could hurt us." His hand edged closer to mine that was resting on my ankle. "Listen to me. We'll find your mother and my parents, and if they are at the mercy of any human masters then we'll get them out." He squeezed my hand tightly, I turned to him and he gave me a reassuring smile. "Come on, let's go and catch up with the others. I think they're looking for loved ones too."
