Lucia

"Lucia take out the trash, please." I paused the movie I was watching and stood up.

"Okay." I walked to the kitchen and grabbed the trash bag, "Just this one?"

My mom nodded from the sink, "Mhm."

I put on my slippers and walked outside. It was already 2 in the afternoon and I was still in my pajamas. Maddie had called to invite me to the movies but...let's be real, there's nothing that can top Netflix. I mean I get to lay on the couch and eat for free! What's better than that?

"Lucia!"

I turned around and saw Aaron jogging towards me. Great. Instead of standing there I continued walking up the driveway as fast as I could.

He grabbed my arm, "You did that on purpose."

I pulled away, "Your point?"

He shook his head and tried to regain his breath. So he runs, huh? Another thing we don't have in common.

"Get ready."

I raised an eyebrow, "Excuse me?"

"I'll be at your house in fifteen minutes."

"Whoa. Hold up, why do I have to get ready? I'm not planning on going out."

"I'm taking you out," he stated, simply.

"Taking me out?" I repeated, "As in you and me? Together?"

He nodded, "Yeah. I figured we need time to bond and school isn't enough."

"Are you obsessed or something? I see you five days a week and if I'm unlucky, I see you during the weekends. Give me a break already."

"I'm not obsessed. I'm trying to make this friendship work."

"This isn't even a friendship! It's completely one-sided!"

"Look, just get ready."

"No, bye."

"Guess I have no choice but to talk with your mom." He started following me to the door and I grabbed his arm and pulled him away.

"Don't you dare."

He smiled, "Fifteen minutes."

"God, I hate you."

I walked outside and saw Aaron leaning against his motorcycle. He smiled, "Hey."

"Where are we going?" I asked, completely ignoring his greeting.

He climbed onto his motorcycle, "It's a surprise," he turned to look at me, "Hop on."

I started laughing, "You're kidding me, right? You don't actually expect me to get on that."

"Why not?" he suddenly gave me a smug smile, "Don't tell me you're actually scared?"

I stopped walking and stared him right in the eye, "If you're expecting a no...that's not going to happen."

He ran a hand through his hair, "C'mon it's not that bad. You haven't even been on one, how can you just assume it's scary?"

I pointed at his bike, "It's a motorcycle." I dead-panned.

He chuckled and shook his head, causing some hairs to fall onto his forehead, "You're really something." he grabbed an extra helmet and forced it down my head, "You know, maybe trying something different isn't all that bad."
