that's what y/n felt ever since the problem with Brenner raiding their home, she felt the urge to just go and explore that new world Brenner was talking about for all she knows he could've been lying but y/n want to so badly - she has a feeling it's important to go back there but she leaved it knowing it wouldn't be a good idea.

though the tug or the empty feeling would remain and she would be in the pits of her questions all over again.

sometimes having the answers doesn't fix anything.

the snowball was coming up and y/n didn't have a dress so after begging and annoying hopper all week about going with joyce to go dress shopping she got the yes but has to be back by 3:30 or he's running a search all over town.

you just mocked him and rolled your eyes but smiles none the less and nodded your head.

Joyce picked you up at 10:00 in the morning - it's now 1:00 as you guys pick up some lunch.

" so i heard you met your mother, tell me about her."

you guys sit and eat while you tell her everything there is to know about your experience with your mother, you smiled and beamed when you found something so amazing about her that joyce felt a little ping.

you were her daughter, she treated you as her own blood but hearing you talk about your mother like that had her feeling and little weird and frustrated .

wish she'd talk about me like that.

you noticed her face smile dropping every second you talking about your mother and knew she was feeling a little jealous but she would always be your mom. whether it's number 1 or 2 it didn't matter.

" joyce," she looks into your eyes as you smile, " you'll always be my mom okay? so don't feel so down about yourself - plus your like super bad ass and cool."

joyce stares a little while longer - like she's thinking about something - before smiling and nodding her head, " yeah."

after they finish up y/n find a white dress that flow down to her knees, even if it wasn't flashy she wasn't looking to grab anyone's attention.

it was almost near 3:00 so you guys just take a long route back to the cabin, " bye joyce i'll see later tonight - love ya!" you beam smiling while closing the car door and running up the steps to cabin knocking on the door but unlocking it yourself as you didn't feel like waiting for hopper slow self to grouch up from the couch like a baked bean.

Hopper still thinks it's dangerous to go outside with everything that happened the other day but he promised that it wouldn't be like last time since they actually know your alive and aren't going to go months without seeing you again.

you were fine with that as long as you still got to go to the pond and see your friends in secret - you didn't care.

you wondered if the school wondered where you were - they probably thought you were dead but it hasn't been conformed so you were stated missing and in searching under the lab name.
