𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 a week and y/n isn't talking to hopper, she won't eat in front of him only at night when she knows he's sound asleep will she slip into the kitchen for a snack. all her happiness is gone as she found joy in going to see Max.
hopper decided to tell y/n why he does what he does - why he's so keen and protective on y/n going outside in risk of her getting taken.
" y/n? can you come to the living room please? we need to talk." hopper knocks softly at her door and tries his best to come out as soft and not cold and rude.
y/n rolls over in bed and then sits up staring at her door for a few seconds then hops out of bed and opens the door to her room.
" kay ... " she sighs as nini follows out behind her missing the warmth of her owner as she sleeps comfortably.
y/n takes a seat on the couch as hopper takes a seat in his chair. it's quiet for a few moments as the air is tense with thought rushing through his head as y/n stares blackly at hopper waiting for him to speak his mind.
" i want to tel you why i'm so overprotective of you." hopper states .
y/s's eyes widen but she takes in a gulp and nods her head, wanting to know the reason behind hoppers behavior , she always thought it was an intuition but she remembered he had a daughter but she died of cancer.
" when sarah died i lost my little girl forever as i know she wasn't coming back but when you came into my life and it changed me for the better. i didn't want you to end up dead or hurt like her and i didn't want to see you gone as i would have no one and would be all alone again but i know know that i may as well be taking your happiness away and i'm sorry." hopper explains, looking into y/n's eyes firmly.
y/n's body trembles as she finally hears him speak the truth for as long as he's been wanting too, she knows that it was hard for him to say that so she was happy he finally had the courage too.
" i'm sorry too, i know i can be a pain in the ass but i din;t mean too i just want my old life back but things will never be the same as things change." y/n says petting the cat sitting next to her leg fast asleep.
