The Dare That Ruined My Life

“jacob.” she finally spoke making him look up at her. “i-” she looked down at her feet and took a deep breathe. You can do this. She looked up at him before finally saying the bitter words.

“it....all was a dare.” she said as his eyes widened. “what? What do you mean exactly?” he asked and she knew it wasn't going to end good.

“me being interested in you, me kissing you....it all was a dare. Noah gave me a dare to make you...fall for me I guess it ends here now.” she spoke trying to act calm but she wasnt. She wasn't at all. She felt the most guilt she ever felt in life.

“wha-t-” his lips trembled as he hold onto his chest. How could she- “i'm sorry.” she bowed at him. “i'm really sorry.” she spoke again as he only stared at her.

His first love. His first ever love broke his heart like this. He never expected this to happen. he never expected her to break him so bad. It was all a dare. A dare. Everything was fake. Her love, her feelings, her smile and even her kiss.

She turned her head to the other side as he grab her hand. She shut her eyes tightly. She just wants to leave. Let me leave. She thought as he turned her towards him.

“dont leave, please Maya.” he said as she stared at him in the eyes. “i have to leave, jacob.” she said as he stared at her too. Her eyes were filled with guilt, sadness and pain. She felt guilty and he knew that.

“maya-” she spoke before he could.
“i'm scared.”

“im scared, I'm scared that if I stay by your side for one more second. I'll fall for you.” she spoke staring into his eyes as he smiled at her. She took a a deep breathe before completing her sentence. “and that's not what I wanna do.” she said as he kept smiling at her. She was shocked. Everything was Infront of him. How heartless she is, how rude she is but he was still smiling at her. “that's okay, that doesn't matter.” he said as he turned his head to the other side. “cause, I won't stop loving you, no matter what.” he said as she stared at his back. How could he be so in love?

She felt his deep sigh as he started walking away. Her knees started getting weak. She ruined it. She ruined her own life by her own life. The fucking dare it ruined her life. The dare sucked. She slowly blink away the tears that were forming in her eyes. She can't let love take over her. She just cant-

ext day-

The day wasn't really good for Noah he walked in to see Jacob. He became that cold guy again. He stayed silent and only looked at his book. His eyes moved to Maya who was sitting on her seat without saying anything. She was staring out of the window.

That's weird. She is not that type of girl to stay silent. I don't dare I just need to apologize for what I did. He slowly walked to her as she looked up at him. She didn't smile. Her expression didn't change. Weird. Absouletly weird.

“Maya, I'm sorry.” he spoke as he sat beside her she just nodded her head and then looked into his eyes. He felt nervous all of a sudden as she spoke.

“i completed your dare, you can go and enjoy your victory.” she said as he stared at her. Wait- Jacob fell for her too? Too? Because he knew he was also madly in love with her. They just stared and stared.

“maya- i-” she stood up from her seat walking away as he followed her. “MAYA! listen to me! I'm sorry I knew the dare was stupid and what I did yesterday was even more stupid forgive me!” he shouted as he followed. She kept ignoring him and as they reached a less crowded place he grabbed her hand making her stop at her spot.

He took a deep breathe and started speaking. “i'm sorry, I'm sorry Maya, it's just...I fell for you.” he said as she shut her eyes. The day couldn't be any more worse.

“i like you, Maya.” he spoke. “that day. You remember when we were kids? The day I begged you to kiss me! You made jokes on me and recorded me. You teased me the whole month.” he said as a soft smile appeared on his face.

“today, I'm telling you again..I want you to make my embarrassing video again, cause I beg you... pleasee kiss me.” he said as she kept her eyes closed he slowly moved her hand and turned her head towards him as he saw her.

Her eyes were filled with tears. He stared at her in horror as she covered her mouth and slow sobs started coming out of her mouth. He stared at her. The most strongest girl he knew was....crying. Infront of him. He was the reason. Everything was his mistake.

She cried out in pain as he stared at her and softly caressed her cheek she quickly push his hand away as she start crying again. His tears also made their way out of his eyes as he stared at her.

“you don't know anything, Noah!” she shouted as he stared at her. She started giving him small punches on his chest as he stared at her. “last night, when I told him- ev-erything I felt- hurt it hurts!” she spoke and cried again.

“i feel like a monster.” she spoke and hit his chest again. “this dare...the dare it ruined my life.” she said as she cried. He softly caressed her back and hugged her tightly. That's what she needs right now. A hug. The best thing that he could give her after all the pain he had given to her.

She softly grab his shirt and cried on his chest. She needed this. Noah knew her so well. He knew that she needed someone to hold onto. She cried and cried.

Jacob walked through the hall when his eyes caught two familiar figures. There it was....happy couple. Noah was hugging her as if his life depended on it and she was hugging him back with the same love. He felt a needle in his heart. He looked away.

She played with you. Jacob. She played with you. He reminded himself as he walked out of the corridor leaving the..happy couple alone.

Maya broke the hug as she looked up at him. He smiled at her and spoke. “go to him, maya.” he said. She raised her eyebrow with a confused expression. “go to him, you still have a chance!” he said as she shook her head in no.

“why...would I go to him?” she tried lying to herself. “you dumbo.” he said and chuckled. “i know you since we were kids.” he said and took a pause before speaking.

“you...love him, Maya!” he said as she stared at him. He was right. He was absolutely right. She loved him she was trying to lie to herself so hard but it all just ended hearing these words from Noah's mouth. She smiled at him.

“you are right, I still have a chance to make things right..I love him!” she shouted and started running away as he stared at her with a smile.
