The Dare That Ruined My Life

Yes, I love him. It took me time to realize. The way I smile when I remember anything about him. The way I wanted to hug him so tight and tell him that I'm sorry when he had tears in his eyes last night Infront of me. The way I want to taste his lips again and again. I'm in love.

I ran through the corridor and kept looking for him. “damn it!” I started going towards the class and then...there he was sitting at a corner reading his book with no expression's on his face. I sighed in relief. Okay!

I was about to walk to him when the phone in my pocket rang everyone's attention went to me..as I shrugged my shoulders taking out my phone and walking out of the class. the timing sucks.

I slowly picked up the phone and spoke. “yes, dad?” I was shocked. Well, really shocked. My dad is a busy person he never has time to talk to me at home and calling me at school is kinda weird. It took him some seconds to reply but it felt like hours.

“maya, I want you at home...now.” he said as she raised her eyebrow. “why- dad-” he cutted her off and spoke. “just do what I'm saying, maya.” he said as she bit her lower lip. He's mad. She nodded her head slowly and spoke.

“okay, I'm coming.” she said as she heard a sigh of relief from the other side as he spoke. “good, I want you in home as quick as you can.” he said as she declined the call and stared at the wall. She kick the wall hardly and cursed herself.

She can't believe that her father destroyed her lovely kdrama moment. She was going to confess her love to the guy who already confessed to her. She rolled her eyes putting the phone back in her pocket and walking out of the corridor.

He stared. He stared at her. He thought she had to say something to him. He thought- well, that's never gonna happen. It was all a dare. He sighed deeply.

Maya entered the home to be greeted by her workers in...a not really fine look. She slowly walked to them raising her eyebrow. She was asking what was wrong. The worker made a horrible face indicating her...that something was absouletly wrong!

She sighed deeply as she sat beside her dad. He slowly caressed her back and a smile formed on her face. She misses this sweet side of her dad. “maya.” he said and she hummed he stared at her and then smiled.

“you know, I've given you everything you asked for, since you were born.” he spoke as she nodded her head agreeing to his words. “now after 24 years I want you...to do something for me.” wait, where is this going - no-

“remember the company I told you about?” he said as she nodded her head. No- god- “the former of the company decided to hand the company matters to...his son.” he said and she nodded. Why is he telling her this?

“they also stopped competing with me.” he said as she stared at him in the eyes and smiled. “that's great, Betzan will again be the best business men!” she shouted with a smile and he stared at her.

“but they want...me to do something in return.” he said and her smile slowly faded away. No- please. “Maya, they want...you to marry their son.” he said as she just stared at her dad. Lost for words. Please I can't do this.

“dad?” she whispered and took a pause. This all is too much for her. She just realized that she loves a guy and then here it is! Bad luck.

“Maya, don't worry his son is really handsome, he has a nice personality and I'm pretty sure you will like him, he will keep you like a queen. He's rich.” he said as she stared at the floor. No- this can't be. I can't marry someone else.

“but dad..” tears rush down her cheek as he look up at her, he softly caress her cheeks and smile at her. “you need to understand me, Maya you're dad is asking you for one favour please don't say no.” he said as she just stared at the ground. Tears weren't stopping.

She can't let her father down. She can't marry another guy. She can't leave Jacob alone. She can't say no to her dad too! What else can she do? Her life literally sucks.

She kept staring at the ground and after what felt like months she finally spoke.

“okay, dad I'm ready, I love you and that's the only you've asked me for.” she said as her father softly hugged her. This hug. The comfort hug she missed. The bad thing is she only got it because of his own profit. She closed her eyes as tears fall down through her cheeks. Life sucks.

Quick. Too quick. The Time passed real fast. I've been skipping uni for 1 week now. I don't know I just want to he alone. I stay alone at my room crying all night. The worse thing is my engagement is today. I'm getting engaged to someone I haven't even seen how nice right!

I breathe in and out as I slowly take out my engagement dress as I stare at it.

What a waste of beauty. The dress was absouletly beautiful but what sucks is the one wearing it is not happy at all. I look at myself in the mirror before speaking to myself.

“you have to be strong, maya.” I said to myself as I walk to the washroom to change my clothes.
