I stepped outside into the fresh morning air,my paws hit the warm pebbles that were heating up in the sun.my nose twitched,I could smell animal waste, cow waste the strongest, sheep and horse waste followed.Evie and her mum were talking,Evie seemed excited and that made me happy.Evie walked me around the yard at first whilst her mum went to let the chickens out,I think Evie was expecting me to want to chase them because she gripped the lead a bit tighter, but I didn't chase the hens,I don't want to,plus I don't want to set a bad example to Evie because she'll think me as a bad dog.
We walked up this footpath and then into a large field,I was let off the lead,I love being off the lead.it's my freedom,my chance to be free,my chance to break away from all my troubles even if it's for a few moments.i did run around for a little bit but then Evie gave me commands to see if I knew them,of course I did.I've been trained, well trained in fact.
She gave me other commands that I knew but a load more that I didn't,she told me that that's what she's going to teach me next, new tricks.
After the walk,Evie took me into a small field near back garden of the house, all the agility obstacles were set up.
This is going to be hard, the poles are what I have to weave through, the dark purple tunnel I have to run through and the seesaw I have to run up,wait and then run down.then there's loads of jumps and other things as well.and all this has to be done with no faults and high speed.i don't think Evie will actually enter me in real competitions for agility, probably a few local ones, but not a world wide one like Crufts because I'm not that good at it,at least I don't think so.mother told me that when your doing agility, you must never stop to think, you must always carry on,no faults and of course always put all your effort into it.thats how you achieve things, that's what Mother says.evie kept me on the lead, she showed me which jumps and obstacles I should go over I didn't like the see saw very much,I had to go up it whilst it went down, wait for it to hit the ground, then go. Next it was the poles,I weaved through them slowly at first, but then picked up speed once I'd got used to the gaps. After a few practise go's,I was let off the lead,I had to follow Evie to whichever obstacle I had to tackle, first it was two jumps.i flew over them like when you jump over a hurdle, fast and powerful strides.then it was the tent,I was a bit uncertain about this one but I did my best and ran through it,then the see saw lay before me. I ran to it and did exactly what Evie had taught me,I had butterflies in my tummy, the see saw still scares me a little.i guess I'm just gonna have to get used to it.i ran to the poles and weaved through them as fast as I could not making a single mistake and then after 4 more jumps,I'd finished the course.i had knocked down two jumps I think,I'm not sure.but Evie didn't tell me off,in fact she was proud of me.so we did the course again, and again and soon I began to pant to lose sweat,I was too hot now and a little out of breathe from running.my muscles were also aching from all the exercise ,Evie could see I needed a rest so she brought me out of the field and into the house,to the conservatory and into the back garden.the back garden has medium length hedges surrounding it and it has lots of flowers and a beautiful blossom tree in the corner, there's a patio, this is made out of concrete slabs,it's well swept and clean with a picnic table and an umbrella for shade attached to the middle of it,the grass was soft and springy,I walked up to the blossom tree, laid down and felt asleep in the shade as the blossoms quivered slightly in the breeze.
