Darcy: you see,Bruce may look like a tough guy,but really under all that hard rough shell of fear,there's a hint of kindness,Bruce never really speaks much.when he does he sounds marry,but he has a good reason for it.his kindness and trust is locked away in his heart,padlocked.and unless he is rescued from here and the right owner comes along,that key to his heart will never be found.this is Bruce's story.
Bruce:
Ok maybe I seem mad at you all don't I? But you see,my past is different to yours,you weren't shoved into a box chucked out into a river with all your siblings were you? You weren't rescued only to find out only you and your brother survived were you? You weren't forced to go into a ring and fight with other dogs were you? You didn't go thinking which day could be your last day alive did you? You weren't living in constant anger and fear were you?
Yes I was a fighting dog,I was trained and raised to fight,I was born to fight,that's what my horrible old owner said.
He would drag me into the ring choking me on the metal chain,then a dog would lunge at me,taking at my ears and legs,I'd fight back until I could no longer even get up.each time I was taken home,shouted at,beaten and not fed if I didn't win.then I'd have to do it all over again,no matter how badly I was hurt,what condition I was in,how weak or Ill I was,I had to fight.i got out of that mans property once,I never looked back,I just kept on running,me and my friend bully,we lived in the same kennel,just me and him,we were his dogs.and when we didn't win we faced horrible punishments.the only problem was,is that when we were escaping,our master found out,we were running down the road,full pelt when a gunshot rang through my ears.no longer was bully running along beside me,he was laying in the road lifeless.i couldn't turn back,I had to keep running,and that's what I did.i ran,and I ran.i got trapped in a raccoon trap in America where I lived,then a bald man wearing a yellow t-shirt found me,picked me up and took me over here to England,and now I'm here.
