When you finished the conversation, you and Jimmy were left in your underwear laying on his bed

You said, your head on his chest
"Your a million miles away tonight"

"I'm just thinking about the twins. How they changed their story. It's like you said. You fought their corner. They made me look like a fool in front of everybody"

"Maybe... maybe Bette convinced dot to save dandy's ass. Excuse my language"
You said

"No, there's something weird going on around here. I don't know what but it's got my head all screwed up"
Jimmy mumbled

"Maybe it's a sign. For us to actually leave this place"
You said, leaning up
"We can leave right now before the sun comes up.. unless you changed your mind"

"No, of course not"
Jimmy planted a kiss on your lips
"I'll go with you"

"Then let's go"
You sighed
"Right now"

"I can't right now. It doesn't feel right"

"Did you see the way dandy looked at the twins? And that second clown.. do you think you could recognise his voice if you heard it?"

You started
"I think dandy's the second clown.. anyway.. it's over. Why does it matter?"

"Because justice is justice. That guy almost stabbed you. If dandy did it he has to pay"

You nodded

"Just take a few more days to get everything settled okay?"
You said
"My mom has already found a beautiful house"

You circled a freckle on jimmys chest

"I love you"
You whispered
"More than anything"

"Anything?"

You smiled back

It turned out that in the night, dell the strong man, he had tried to sedate Evie

"All i can think about now is that he tried to put his grubby hands all over me"
She sighed, she tried to take her hands out of the ice water

"No, no. Keep your hand in or the swelling be a nasty problem"
You said, holding her hand in the ice

"Dell's done a lot of rotten things, but this?"
Jimmy started
"He must be out of his mind. We got to get our facts straight so when the cops-"

"Cops?"
His mother said
"You of all people saying that? Dells our problem, we gonna fix it. We're gonna sneak into his trailer and kill him-"

"Woah-"
You started
"Isn't that a little... far? I'm on jimmys side. We need to get the cops involved"

"Of course you'd be on Jimmys side, darlin'. If he told you to jump off a bridge you'd do it"
His mom said
"Anyway, i know him. I know what he's capable of and you both don't"

"Jesus, ma! Well.. at least let me talk to him"
Jimmy said

"What if he'd come after y/n?"
Evie asked
"You'd be the first one charging in with a gun"

"You don't know what it's like, peepers flipping up our skirts"
Suzi said

"You know what your problem is, Jimmy? You're stuck on the rosy notion that the world operates on goodness, decency. Truth is.. all goodness guarantees you is an early grave. The biggest joke of all, the thing that'll sink you every time.. is hope"
Tears stung jimmies moms eyes
"Hope that the world will right itself. That the just will be rewarded and the wicked punished. Oh, once you buy into that horseshit, you're dead in the water. The only way to.. survive in this disgusting godforsaken world.. you got to take control. Ain't nobody gonna take care of our people but us. And maybe those few like miracle.
