"Hey Scarlet, do you want to go grab some coffee when you're done with work?"

"Sure Cameron, I only have 2 more robe fittings left." I said, walking through the racks to find something.

It's late August, meaning everyone is coming to get stuff for school and 1st years needed robe fittings.

"Sweet!" Cameron said happily. "I found this cute coffee shop a few blocks away."

"Sounds good." I hummed.

I finished up my last few fittings of the day and clocked out.

Cameron and I made our way through London until we found a small little coffee shop tucked away in the busy street.

"I look normal, right?" Cameron asked, facing me. I did a once over of her outfit and gave her a thumbs up.

We sit down and wait for someone to come to our table. I look around at the shop. It has fairy-lights and cute minimalistic decor. The best part about London is that every so often you find hidden gems like this.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you. While you were finishing work, I sent word to Sierra and Leona telling them we were grabbing coffee and maybe going shopping. They should be here soon."

"Sounds good." I said, smiling. Cameron and I met Sierra and Leona at school, we all shared a dorm. And towards the end of our first year, we were almost inseparable. Cameron and I have always been a little closer, though, because we've known each other since we were kids.

We hear the door of the coffee shop open, and two girls are standing in the doorway.

"Cameron! Scarlet!" Leona squealed, coming over to us.

"Hey girls!" I said, getting up to hug them.

Sierra had to bend down to hug me. She is five foot ten and I am five foot one.

"Feels like we haven't seen each other in forever!" Leona sighed.

"You saw us last week!" Cameron exclaimed.

"That's too long." Leona whined.

"Whatever." I said, rolling my eyes. "Let's just order and go shopping."

We all ordered our drinks and a pastry to go. Once our food came, we all got up and left.

As we were walking, I heard screaming as we passed an alley. Cameron, Sierra, Leona, and I stopped.

We watched as a girl probably no older than twelve was getting attacked.

"STOP!" the girl screamed. "STOP PLEASE."

"What are you going to do about it, nerd?" One guy asked.

I had to stop myself from reaching into my bag and grabbing the one thing that would make this situation so much worse.

"STOP!" the girl screamed again.

This time, like magic, the boys flew off her and landed by the wall. I turn to look at Cameron, Leona, and Sierra and they all shake their heads.

"Let's go guys. The nerd is obviously a freak, too." The boy said, and everyone followed him out of the alley.

"Are you okay?" I asked, rushing to the girl.

She nodded her head. "Are you sure?"

This time, she shook her head no. "Those guys think I'm a nerd and a freak."

"Does weird stuff like that happen all the time?" I asked, a small smile playing on my lips.

"You think it's weird too?" She asked, slightly upset. "My father thinks something's wrong with me because every time I show emotion, bad things happen."

"Sweety what's your name?"

"Macie."

"Okay. Macie, how old are you?" I asked.

"Eleven."

"Did you by any chance get a letter from somewhere called Hogwarts?"

"Yes." She stammered. "My dad said that it was the same stupid school my mother went to and tore the letter in front of my face before I even got to read it. My mother died when I was 3. I think that's why he hates me. Says I look too much like her. He hates anything that reminds him of her."

"I see. Well Macie. Let me tell you are not a freak. Actually, you are extremely special." I smiled.

"Why?"

"Because you are a witch." I said seriously.

"So I am a freak!" she yelled. "How do you know that I'm a witch? Witches aren't real."

"No, you're not a freak. And I know because."

I look towards Cameron, who was holding my purse. She reaches inside it and throws something at me. I catch it with ease, letting my fingers wrap around the familiar wood handle of my wand.

"Why do you have a stick?" She asked, staring at my wand.

"This my dear. Is a wand." I said, holding it up. "Expecto Patronum." I whispered. A bright silver swallow came out of my wand and flew circles around us before coming back and disappearing into the mist.

"Wow." Macie breathed. "You can do magic."

"Yes, I can." I confirmed. "I went to Hogwarts like your mother."

"So my mother was a witch?" I nodded.

"I wanna be a witch!" She exclaimed.

"But my dad ripped my letter." She pouted.

"Well, my dear Macie. That can be fixed. What's your last name?" I asked.

"Macie Grey." She said, a smile appearing on her face.

I nodded and pulled out my wand again. "Expecto Patronum."

"Hello professor. I met a girl named Macie Grey. Her father, I am assuming, is a muggle who married a witch, and he destroyed her Hogwarts letter. I am hoping you find a way to get her another letter and to school safely. If I have to, I will escort her myself when I come on September first. Best Wishes, Scarlet Whitlock." I said to my wand. My patronus nodded its head and then flew off to go deliver the messege.

"There Macie. I sent a message to Headmistress McGonagall. She will sort it out." I smiled.

"For now, why don't you come with me and my friends?'"

"Okay!" she said excitedly sitting up from where she was on the ground.

"You know Miss Scarlet. You're a pretty nice witch."

"What made you think I would be bad?" I asked, surprised.

"All the fairytales my dad tells me."

"Well. Not all witches are like fairytales. We're not evil, and we don't brew potions to hurt people." I said. "We're better than the fairytales."

This story is a littel shorter than my other ones though. But I loved writing in. Most of you know I am a huge Potterhead so yall know something was going to take place in the wizarding world. This probably won't be the last one either.

Thank you all for reading!!!
