"You ever feel like you missed your calling, Cap?" Chimney asks as he and Alec accept a plate of food off the captain the Gallagher man quickly digs into it knowing the bell could go any minute. "What are you thinking? Michelin-rated restaurant or short order cook?" "I was thinking TV chef. I mean, what you do, it's like performance art." chimney tells their captain.

"Mm-hmm, and much like watching cooking on TV, we never get to taste anything. Usually by the time it hits the table, the bell goes off." hen says making alec glare at the woman "Don't you jinx it hen or you're buying me food." he warned her.

"All right, speed round. If you weren't doing this, what would you be doing?" Bobby asks the three members of his team chimney is the first to answer. "Fighter pilot. Top Gun. Call sign: shogun." Both hen and Alec begin laughing.

"What about you, Hen?" Bobby asks the woman "Editorial cartoonist, The New Yorker. I have a lot to say." "You draw?" Alex asks his friend. "No, it's a dream. It's not supposed to be attainable. Top gun? You can barely drive, you rebar head." "Hey." Chimney whines.

"Alec?" the captain turns to him. "Playing the piano and singing." alec smiled softly at the memories of him singing to his siblings.

"Can you do either?" Hen asks the brunette friend who scoffs "I can do both not to be cocky, but I think I'm okay at it." Chimney pointed his knife at the man "You'll have to play for us some time to put on a show."

"Buckaroo. If you were not a member of the LAFD, what would you be doing?" Alec asks the young firefighter. "Uh, I don't know. I'm not getting fired, am I?" The blonde asks worriedly. "That's inevitable." Chimney says mouth full of food.

"He'd be a golden retriever." Alec says to hen. "No, a bartender." Chim tells them. "No, no, no, bouncer at a bar." Hen voices.

"A bouncer at a strip club." Alec says earning a high five from the Asian and black woman.

"What's going on with you, kid?" bobby's asks the young blonde. "Just traffic sucks in this town unless you're driving ten tons of engine with sirens. It took me almost two hours to get from Abby's place to the call center downtown, then back over here. Just told Maddie she needs to start Ubering."

"How's your sister settling in down there?" "Well, she's Buckley. Practically running the place." chimney hen and alec all share a look before walking away.

Alec is climbing down the side of the fire engine when everything starts shaking the man loses his balance and falls backwards landing smack on the floor Eddie who hen had just helped quickly helps him up just as a metal beam was about to fall on him pulling him out the building with him before the Gallagher can even go to try help anyone else.

As they stand outside, Alec looks to Eddie in concern "are you okay?" he asks the Texas man. "Me, I'm not the one who fell from the truck, let me check you over." The Diaz man didn't let Alec put up an argument before his shirt had been pulled up and he had begun poking him. "Nothing's broken, just bruised." Alec rolled his eyes at the man but when their eyes connected Alec smiled "I know but thank you Edmundo." Eddie rolled his eyes at the use of his full name "Your welcome Alexander."

They were all sitting in the truck both Eddie and Alec on their phones frantically texting "Is everything okay?" Buck asked the two in concern. "Yeah. There's no service. Texts won't even get through." Eddie explained alec knew he was trying to get ahold of his son. "Who are you trying to get a hold of?" Buck asked curiously.

"My son. I'm trying to reach my son." Bucks's eyes widened at the new information. "Whoa, you got a kid?"

"Christopher. He's seven." "And super adorable." Alec added "I, uh, I love kids." Buck told the two the young blonde had expressed how he wanted to meet Alec's siblings. "I love this one. I'm all he's got. His mother's not in the picture."

"He's at school, Edmundo he'll be fine." the two shared a soft smile "Yeah. Hey, I'm sure he's fine."

"You guys ever deal with anything like this before?" Eddie asked as they all stared up at the tilted building. "No." Is all Bobby says.

A woman was heard shouting in the distance) "I have to get back in there. No, you have to let me back in there! My baby's in there!" "Please, our daughter is still inside! She's eight years old!" "No, my daughter's inside!" "Kat. Her name is Kat!" "You have to let me in there! She's all alone! Stop it!" Alec feels as though the temperature had dropped by hundreds a child was in there alone, he watched as the parents were dragged away.

" They seriously think that's gonna hold it up?" Buck asks as they see people placing metal sticks under the building "Let's go find the incident commander."

"Captain. Chief Williams, incident commander." The woman introduces herself. "Captain Bobby Nash. How can we help you?" Bobby asks while following the woman.

"Hotel manager said they were between checkout and check-in when the quake hit, so they were light on guests. We've made contact with most of those. Multiple evac operations in progress. All but 12 of the 68 staff have been accounted for. It's been pretty chaotic." "The family back there said their little girl is still missing." Alec interrupted the woman. "As long as it's still safe to do so, we'll be looking for any survivors." chief williams says.

"What do your engineers have to say?" Bobbys asks the captain. "Looks like we had a brittle failure in the prestressed concrete section of the building's underground parking garage, causing it to pancake at an angle. Right now, the reinforced steel is the only thing keeping it from completely collapsing. One good aftershock..." "And the whole thing could come down." Alec finishes making her nod in agreement.

"A high-rise is supposed to be the safest place to be when an earthquake hits." Buck says aloud. "Not when you're built right on top of a fault line. This quake was a 7.1." Williams tells the young man.

"Northridge was just a 6.7. 7.1..." Hen tells the group. "That makes it the largest in SoCal in 20 years. And the last one was in Joshua Tree." chimney tells them.

"How many crews do you have in there?" Captain Nash asks williams. "Not enough. We've put in a request for Heavy Rescue 3, but they're on their way to a freeway collapse. We can use every hand we can get." she says before leaving "Thank you." Bobby says to the other captain.

"Okay, listen up. Here's how you make it to the end of the day. You don't worry about the things that you can't do anything about. Focus on one task at a time. I can't order you guys to go inside that building, and I'm not gonna judge you if you decide not to." Alec can tell Bobby really means it.

"Hen and Alex, you both have kids, so..." chimney is cut off by hen. "Yeah. And I'd hope if someone whose job it was to save him had the chance, they'd do it. No matter what."

"Where do you want us?" Gallagher asks. Before Bobby can answer a police officer comes over. "Hey. You guys will want to see this."

Alex stared at the figure which was currently pressed up against glass which could shatter at any moment and no one wanted that to happen or see it.

"We could set up a bag street-side in case that window gives." The Gallagher man suggested. "Nobody works under that side of the building. Somebody's gonna have to get him from the inside." Bobby orders.

"Buck, you say that's the 11th floor?" Eddie asks the blonde. "I would. I bet we could take the ladder to that fourth floor. Cut the distance in half." Bobby overhears and orders them to do as buck had said which was a first. "Head on up."

"Watch your step, guys. L.A. Fire and Rescue!" Bobby shouts. "Is anybody down here? Hello?" Chimney shouts "Bobby." Alec softly gestures to the body on the ground "Yeah? All right. All right, guys, let's keep going." "L.A. Fire and Rescue." Alec yells into the nothingness.

"Anybody down here?" the brunette yells again. "Right here!" A man's voice replies. "All right, we got a voice over there, guys. Let's go." Bobby orders they all follow from the sound had come from.
