A/n all flashbacks will be done in third person unless its focused on the reader when she is five or older. Also the picture up top is the painting the customer is buying from Daniel Blake.

Sarah couldn't believe her ears once she got back from the doctor. Rani had told her she was pregnant and Sarah asked to take a test to confirm. She ended up taking three hoping that Rani was wrong. But at this point she couldn't deny the truth anymore, whether she liked it or not she was pregnant. Sarah felt her heart speed up as she thought about how much would change. She knew the baby was Sam's, she hadn't slept with anyone else in over a year.

What was she supposed to do? Call him and tell him that she was pregnant. She didn't even know if he was still alive let alone if he wanted a kid. From the time they shared together, Sarah knew that Sam didn't like opening up to others since he feared they would get hurt. She had managed to prove that he wasn't right but Sarah was smart, one lucky escape wouldn't cause his fears to cease. She cried at this conclusion and feared what her father would do once he found out. She already knew that he hadn't liked Sam, so how would she tell him she was carrying Sam's baby.

"Pull yourself together Sarah," she said to herself. She placed her hand on her stomach expecting it to already be round, but it was still flat. That wouldn't last long, so after throwing the last test away. Sarah packed her bag and began her journey home, no doubt it was going to get ugly.
"Sarah you know that you can always call me, if he reacts badly." Rani said gently grabbing Sarah's arm.
"I know I can," Sarah answered. Her blue eyes were still tinted with red from all her crying. "But I don't think it will make much of a difference."

"It will," Rani said to her. "I ran out on my old man, since he didn't support me following my brother."
"Oh Rani I'm sorry," Sarah responded giving her a hug. "He sounds like a jerk."
"Many would disagree," Rani replied. "But I promise that I won't let anything bad happen to your baby." Sarah gave her friend a look of confusing. The statement itself was a bit odd but Sarah ignored the uneasy felling in her gut and walked out the door. She stepped into her father's car and upfront Ian looked back at her.

"Everything okay Sarah?" Ian asked.
"Not really," Sarah answered. "I'm about to face the wrath of Daniel Blake."
"Hey you're his daughter he wouldn't hurt you," Ian responded. He had basically been working for the man his whole life since his father had been, the family's driver. But now his father was dead so he was responsible for driving Sarah and her father.
"I know that but I'm afraid that that won't save me this time." she answered.
"Well if you need a knight in shinning armor, I will save you." Ian said.

Sarah laughed at her words which was the first time all day, she had smiled. But it quickly faded once Ian drove off, the drive wasn't long enough, and she stepped out clutching her necklace. Ian wished her luck but she didn't answer and walked inside, her father was in the middle of selling a painting. She knew that he wouldn't like being interrupted during a sale, but he had to know, even if there was a small part of her that wanted to not tell him.
"I can assure you that the painting is worth at least 20 carrots." Daniel said.

"I do love a beautiful scenry," the buyer said admiring the two swans on the painting. One was black and the other was white, meaning they were so different, yet somehow they fit together perfectly. The frame around the painting was a regal gray showing the combination of the two swans and making the background stick out. "I'll take it,"
"Dad I need to talk to you." Sarah said tapping him on the shoulder.
"Not now Sweetie I'm busy," Daniel answered. "I'll have it boxed up for you."

"Dad its important," Sarah told him. Daniel looked at his daughter and apologized to the customer.
"It's no problem," he said. "I can wait."
"Thank you..." Sarah trailed off unsure what his name was.
"Chuck," he answered. The man smiled and Sarah actually felt herself feel at peace. "Actually why don't you take it?"
"The painting?" Sarah asked in confusion.
"But you said you would take it." Daniel said a bit disappointed.
"Yes but now that I see where your heart truly lies, I think your daughter should have it," Chuck responded. "Have a good day."
