"Get your hands off of me!" Echo throws Lynch off of him.

"We should have never come here! We're going to die!" Lynch yells.

"Don't be so dramatic, Lynch." Camille tells him.

Lynch stares at her for a good few seconds. Echo helps him up.

"Can we please talk, like people?" Camille asks, sitting down. She then gestured them to to sit with her.

They both sit down.

"So we....have a situation, yes?"

"yes."

"Yes."

"Tell me the situation, Echo."

"We are stuck inside an exoplanet covered in Egregore and the living dead."

"Very hospitable." Lynch jokes.

Both Camille and Echo glare at him.

"Well, maybe it is pretty bad."

"We've lost three major fireteams in the Union in the blink of an eye, and the last survivor is only a kid."

Frost stood still, pale as could be, in the cargo hold. It was a busy place, everyone was panicking. Except for him, he didn't really know how to feel.

Sometimes other comrades of his stopped by to ask how he was doing, some even gave him a hug. He needed those, he had to admit.

"You're a survivor, Frost. That's something to remember." Echo's voice was too unique to be held by anyone else.

"It shouldn't have been me. I'm useless."

"Useless? I don't think so. Look at me Frost...actually...what's your first name?"

"I don't have a name."

"You don't have a name?"

"I don't remember my parents. This is the only life I know."

Echo looks down, then back up at Frost.

"Frost, come with me."

They walk back up to the bridge, where Camille and Lynch waited. Camille stood up and walked over to him immediately.

"Frost...I'm sorry about your squad. I shouldn't have sent just a few fireteams."

"Please Commander...it was my fault. I should've done something, anything."

"What could you have done in the face of unknown danger?"

Frost remained silent.

"I want you to stay with me, Frost."

"What? No Commander, I'm too young and inexperienced, I-"

"Save it, Captain Frost."

Frost looked back at Echo, who allowed it.

"I'm going to fail, Commander Camille."

"No, you won't."

A loud boom shakes the ship. Everyone falls over and the ship begins to tip forward towards the surface.

"What the hell was that?!" Lynch yells out, running towards the ship controls to pull up. He pulls with all his might, Camille runs to help him.

Soldiers in the cargo hold assumed assault and/or boarding, and got armed and ready to fight the Egregore "things".

Indeed, they were being attacked by the walking corpses. They had utilized old artillery left behind by the armies at the old battle, of course, it was still in working condition.
