We are retreating. We're leaving our own home, it's been taken by the enemy. They're following us, and they will most likely kill us. I am their Commander, their leader. I don't know if I can lead them to their inevitable deaths any longer.
Union troops and Guardians get into formation, all gathering in their makeshift trenches dug into the snow of the Europa plains. They then wait, for the fight.
Echo-8, Camille, and Gate watch as the Winter Legion enter Europa's atmosphere and land a few dozen meters away. They could use the extra help.
Kanya and Acreo-1 exit the Corrobahn Torris, the flagship of the Winter Legion. Gate approaches them.
"It's good to see you two." He says, shaking their hands.
"I'm sorry about the City, Gate. We should've been there..." Kanya replies. She looks over at Echo, who was quietly standing with Camille.
She walks past Gate and begins running towards Echo. Echo walks towards her, and they embrace.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there..." She whispers to him.
"It's....okay.. I'm okay."
Brutus and Dolos sit in the Union Flagship, waiting for the fight with the soldiers.
"These are strange times."
"Maybe a bit worse than that, Dolos. What if this is the end?"
"It isn't the end. Don't be so negative."
Brutus worries for the House of Truesight. Dolos feels this.
"They will be okay." He puts his hand on her shoulder.
"I shouldn't be here. I should be with them."
Dolos doesn't have anything to say.
Gate gathers everyone to the bridge of the Corrobahn Torris, including Frost.
"Frederick is coming, with an army. There's going to be a fight whether we wanted it or not. Everyone has a role to play in the next couple hours."
"The Union will stand behind the Guardians. We will refrain from pushing the offensive. The Things have seem to be a very overwhelming force. We'll have to hold the line. Kanya, Lynch, and Camille will lead the armies into battle. Acreo, I want you to focus on air support."
"What about you, Echo, Brutus and Dolos?" Camille asks.
Gate looks at Echo.
"Well, we're going to take down that son of a bitch ourselves."
Dolos gives Gate a thumbs up.
"Everyone. We are not the Union, The Guardians, and the Winter Legion in this war. We are Humanity combined. We are one force. We're all comrades now. Be brave, stay strong."
Everyone stands up to leave. As they do, they hear the hundreds of ships loudly entering Europa's skies.
The soldiers get into position, their heavy breathing being the only thing anyone ever hears. Acreo puts the ships in the air. Gate, Dolos, Echo, and Brutus begin to climb the cliffs, in order to get past the fight and to Frederick.
Captain Frost pulls out binoculars, wearing heavy armor. He peers at the large, stolen ships.
The ships were dropping hundreds of strange objects out of the ship.
