                                                                    Jay's POV

Detention went by quickly or at least too quickly for my liking. I was walking down the supposedly empty corridor when I heard hushed voices,

"Tell anyone and I'll tell the whole school, understand?"

A familiarly tall figure nodded in agreement. When I heard their footsteps get louder, I sped down the hallway with such ease, my mind was about to burst with questions. First my eyes, now my every move? I ran out of the hellhole I called 'school' and down the street, the lamps highlighted my face. When I reached my house, I kicked open the door. To my surprise my parents were standing there not dazed in the slightest.

"Stage 1, complete,"

Cold sweat trickled down my back, what did they mean?

"You were born with something that ran through our family but died out, now it has resurfaced," my mum held my face with tears in her eyes,

"Your heart was as cold as stone, it never skipped a beat for anyone now your heart is peeling back its layers because you've found your soulmate," my dad explained.

"My soulmate, but who?"

"That's up to your heart,"

Ni-Ki? No, that boy's a tough ass cookie. If not him, then who?

With my scrambled mind of questions, I climbed the stairs to my room and slammed the door behind me. How did any of this make sense in the first place? What were my parents? Are they even my parents? How do I find my soulmate? What exactly is this thing I was born with?

I heard my phone ping and fished it out my pocket,

Tall Penguin:

You okay?

An Everday Slay:

Yeah, why?

Tall Penguin:

Just making sure mah best bro didn't get jumped

An Everday Slay:

One day you're gonna be sleeping with one eye open 😁

Tall Penguin:

Precisely that

An Everday Slay:

Gn

Tall Penguin:

GoOd NiGhT mAtE

I scoffed at Sunghoon's text and plopped my phone down onto my drawer. Feeling sleepier minute by minute.
