chapter 38: it's your fault

Gia POV

I was sleeping next to Jay when I received a call from an unknown number. Who calls this time we are sleeping I thought to self.
"hello" I said
"hello is this Gia" the lady said
"yes how may I help you?" I asked
"uhm Mia Jinsui has been admitted at lenox hill hospital  please come as soon as possible it's urgent" she said  and I got of the bed panicking
I woke Jay up and we made our way to the hospital, on my way to the hospital I called the others too.
I got to the hospital and asked for Mia, I was taken to where she was. I just stood next to Mia crying, seeing my friend in those machines made me cry even more because she's been through a lot.
"friend please wake up, if not for me please do it for Mian, she's still young to lose her mother, I'm sure you don't want her to feel the same pain you felt when your mommy died please wake up" I said and everyone came to the room, Charlotte and Tali hugged me really tight.
The doctor came in
"Doctor Darius what happened to Mia" Charlotte asked
"uhm the scan and the bruises on her body show that she has been beaten but because she's strong she survived, she's a fighter" Dr Darius said
"Who could've done this?, where's Mateo Gia?" Tali asked
"The person who did this left her at our main entrance with a letter written I'm sorry and Gia's phone number " Doctor Darius said then left
"who's Mateo Tali?" Jay asked
"Her boyfriend, you don't know him" Tali said
"Mateo Cole?" Liam asked again and I nodded
"shit we have to find him really fast, he needs to pay" Liam
"why?" I asked
"Mateo is an abuser, no girl makes it out alive if he's in a relationship with him, He recently killed his baby mama 3 months ago" Jay said and we were all shocked because Mateo looked innocent
"I blame Liam for Mia's condition right now because if he hasn't cheated and lied to her, Mia wouldn't be in this position right now, You broke her heart, I mean the promises you made to her. Mia is here because of the stupid decisions you made that led her to be in a relationship with Mateo, and now you act as if you care" I said crying
"Look Gia you're also to be blamed especially as her best friend you were supposed to have conversation with your friend and who knows maybe she could've told you that she was in an abusive relationship, as her friends you guys were supposed to do a background check on this Mateo guy. I'm aware that I made stupid decisions and I take full responsibility for them. But that doesn't mean I don't care about her, I love her why do you think I'm here and don't think I will leave Mia's side just because you say so." Liam said and he was right but I wasn't going tell him
" well I don't care, but do-" I was cutt off
"you two stop arguing for the sake of Mia's health, and nobody's to be blamed the only person who should be blamed is Mateo and what we should be doing now is to look for this Mateo before he comes back to finish Mia off because he's thirsty for blood" Amir said
