On the night of the Harvest Fest, a young wizard is struck down with a death curse. With no perpetrator to catch, everyone casts blame toward the Vale family, recalling their past of abusing black magic and murderous chaos.
Lucien Cromwell, a wizard involved in the investigation, is the only one who believes they are innocent. Or at the very least, he knows Castor Vale, his childhood best friend, wouldn't hurt a soul. However, proving their innocence is a harder task than he thought. With clues pointing to Castor and his family, Lucien is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He doesn't want to accuse his best friend, but his trust wavers the further the investigation goes.
Can he see through the mist of lies and mysteries and find the murderer, or will his heart succumb and blind him from the truth?

Welcome to my first paranormal/ dark fantasy/ mystery thriller series! Thank you so much for checking this story out. I'm stepping a bit away from my comfort zone to write this and have plans to extend more on the series and the world itself. There's already a sequel in the works along with a handful of spin-offs on the way!
Kin of the Curse takes place in an alternate world to ours in a fictional little town called Briarwood. It's home to many wizard families, living in their tight-knit cozy community, until something evil barrels into town.
This is a dark and gritty story that'll dive deep into the characters emotions (as that plays a huge role in how their magic works) along with their families. You'll notice not everyone is as loving or accepting amongst their community, but I've written them specifically that way for a reason. You don't have to agree with their ways or can even hate them with all your heart! I'm so excited to share this new murderous, magical adventure with you all!😊
