The rest of my flight was spent chugging caffeine in the hopes of staying awake and joking with Celeste whenever she walked by. She was really sweet and funny, and we seemed to share similar interests. When we finally landed, she gave me her phone number and told me to keep in contact. Wow, my first friend. That wasn't too hard.
"I have to go now, but keep in touch, yeah? We'll have to meet up in Sydney sometime." She smiled at me after we exited the plane. We had met up at the luggage carousel.
"Of course!" I replied, taking my bag off of the carousel. A blond, stubbly man walked towards us, with a little baby in his arms. Celeste turned to look at him, and squealed excitedly, pecking him on the cheek.
"Kaya, this is my husband, Jack." She smiled. We shook hands, after Celeste took the little baby. "Oh, Kaya, you're 18, right?" She mused. I nodded in confirmation.
"Just like my brother!" Jack exclaimed. "He's 19 in July, actually." I smiled, but it was kind of forced. Don't think of me as a snob, but I preferred to make friends with older people - 18 year old white boys were usually douchebags. All of a sudden, I heard screams from nearby. Jack rolled his eyes. "Speak of the devil..."
I must have looked confused, because he and Celeste gave each other knowing looks just as the doors burst open. The screams were almost deafening by now. A horde of security guards hauled through, arms outstretched. Who was Jack's brother, the president?!
When the doors were closed, it was just me, Jack, Celeste and the security horde. They eventually parted to reveal possibly the most beautiful human I have ever seen in my entire life. My breath hitched in my throat as I took in his appearance. From his blond quiff and lip ring to his vaguely bored expression and ripped skinnies, everything about him was perfect. He was just too good to be true.
"Who's this?" He spat. Oh. I was right.
I smiled at him. "Kaya Harper. A friend of Celeste's." He rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, okay. You want a picture or something? An autograph?" He questioned. I thought for a moment, but nope, I still had no idea what was happening.
"N-no? Who are you?" I looked around for a hidden camera. "Am I on Punk'd or something?"
Celeste burst out laughing. "No! No. Kaya, meet Luke. He's in a band." Oh, that explained everything. I raised a eyebrow at him.
"What band?" I questioned, curious. He looked taken aback - offended, almost. I noticed his Blink 182 shirt. Good taste.
"5 Seconds of Summer." He mumbled. "No big deal."
