LUKE'S POV
When I shut the door behind me, she was the only thing on my mind.
When I sat on the couch with my head in my hands, she was the only thing on my mind.
When I called the boys and told them to come over, she was the only thing on my mind.Screw you Kaya Harper. Screw your gorgeous hair. Screw your adorable nose. Screw the way your cheeks light up when you're embarrassed. Because you were the only thing on my mind, and I couldn't stop thinking about you. And I hated it, because I didn't want to like you. You're not the one I'm supposed to like - we just met, we'd barely spoken, and yet I felt like I was falling for you.
Which is exactly why I did the opposite. If I was rude to you, maybe I'd convince myself that those feelings weren't real. Because you weren't supposed to be the one.
My girlfriend was.
-------
It was 11pm when my bandmates arrived. Michael headed straight to the fridge, Ashton slumped on the sofa and Calum joined him. "Well hello to you too," I muttered, shutting the door. I straightened my flannel and grabbed a diet coke from the fridge, which Michael had removed a cold slice of leftover pizza from. Ew.Even with the boys as a distraction, she was still there in the back of my mind. Her muted red waves cascading down her back. Her chestnut brown eyes watching everything intently. Except, right now, it felt like those eyes were piercing right through me; those waves wrapping around my neck. That's how it felt. It felt like she was slowly killing me because of how she made me feel. It made me want to scream.
"Luke? Dude?" My attention returned to Ash's worried gaze. "You totally zoned out there, man." He shook his head, focusing on the tabloid crap blaring out of the screen. I wasn't really listening, but when the presenter mentioned Calum, we all leaned forward.
"Rumours have surfaced that 5 Seconds of Summer bassist Calum Hood has been seen around with up-and-coming actress, Poppy Boulevard. Pictures of the two mingling in Los Angeles have emerged, and they look very friendly to say the least. Is this more than just a holiday fling?" The presenter smirked. A picture flicked up of Cal leaning up close to her at a club in LA, and it looked like they were kissing.
Cal covered his face with his hands and paced back and forth. "It's not what it looks like! I was just asking her if she'd like to get out of there!" We all raised an eyebrow. "OH! No, not like THAT! She was about to have a panic attack because of all the people and the loud music, she wanted to leave." He added with a sad smile.
"Aaw, that's so sweet." Michael chirped sarcastically. "Now can we just play FIFA?"
------
"Bye, guys." I said as they left the apartment. Not even a minute after they'd gone, Jack was in."Look, mate, I know you're stressed and all, but you need to stop being so rude." He said flatly. "You made a pretty shít first impression with Kaya and you need to fix it. Take her out for coffee or something, okay?" I groaned and threw my head back. Really? I was trying to avoid this.
I didn't get chance to argue, though, because Jack had already left. I huffed, running a hand through my quiff. I couldn't bare to ask her in person, that'd be way too embarrassing. It was 3am, she'd be asleep right now - I'd leave a note. Yeah, that'd work.
I grabbed a pen and paper and scribbled a note, adding a stupid smiley face at the end. Walking out into the the corridor, I made sure to be quiet as a mouse. I didn't want to wake anyone up. I tiptoed across the hardwood flooring and pushed the note under her front door, making sure it didn't rip along the way.
As soon as I'd settled down into my sofa, I heard a crinkle at my door, and footsteps retreating away. I got up to investigate the incident, padding through in my bunny slippers. It was then I saw what lay at my door.
A note.
A/N: THE FEELS GUYS OH MY
