Avoiding Luke in the apartment building was very difficult. Fans and celebrity news accounts on Twitter had been tweeting that he was sat outside the building, waiting for me, but refusing to talk to fans. Rude.

He had even tweeted, 'It's been one night and I miss you so much.' The less deductive fans had suspected it was song lyrics, but those who were up to date on the drama said it was about me. It probably was, and that made it worse.

As the taxi pulled around the corner, I took in the huge crowd surrounding the entrance. The vehicle parked beside the road, and the crowd parted in the middle to reveal Luke. He looked like an emotional wreck. He hadn't shaved, leaving patchy stubble, and his hair was flat and uncombed. You could see he hadn't got any sleep. He wasn't even wearing jeans, just grey sweatpants and a baggy hoodie. As soon as he saw me, he practically squealed.

I looked practically prepared compared to him. Chelsea had brought a spare pair of clothes, but she said I needed them more than her. ("I'm a nobody, I can go out in my pyjamas, but you'll get loads of hate if you do.") So I ended up wearing a pair of black shorts and a peasant blouse, with gladiator sandals and my own RayBans.

With a sigh, I strolled through the pathway that was formed, taking a few selfies along the way. As I reached the door, Luke hopped up from the bench and reached out to me, pulling me into a hug. I stayed as rigid as possible, just bringing my hands up to his chest and firmly pushing him away. He stumbled, surprised. If he thought I was going to take him right back, he was so wrong. I simply shot him a sweet smile and laughed, pushing through the glass doors of the building. He didn't follow.

After quickly packing a suitcase with everything I would need, I got in an elevator and pressed the button for the ground floor. Two girls in 5SOS tees grinned up at me in the metal box, dressed just like the band. They wore flannels around their waists, ripped black jeans on their legs and black converse. Classic 5SOS fans. (A/N this isn't a dig to anyone dressing like that, I wore literally that outfit to ROWYSO lol)

"Kaya?" One asked. She looked around fifteen, with long blonde hair reaching her waist. She'd used hair chalk to try and give herself highlights, but she must have done it wrong or bought a bad set because it looked like she sprinkled colourful talcum powder on her head. I could see the edges of a push-up bra under her black strap top, obvious she was trying to make the most of the little boobs she had. Along with the inch-thick foundation she had on her face, it was obvious she was trying to impress the boys. What was this, groupies in training?

"Yeah, that's me." I spoke through gritted teeth. Her eyes shone with glee.

"Did you and Luke just break up?" She asked hopefully. I sighed, telling her we never really dated. She couldn't contain her happiness.

"So do you think I'd have a chance?" She giggled. I had to stop myself from laughing.

"Maybe in a few ye- You know what, fuck it, why not? He's all yours. Word of advice though, it's Calum that's usually banging teenagers." And with a flick of my hair, I left the elevator on the ground floor. Suspiciously, the crowd stayed very silent, and Luke was nowhere to be seen.

All of a sudden, I heard an acoustic guitar being played behind me, followed by lyrics I knew all too well.

"Take me back to the middle of nowhere..." I would know those lyrics anywhere. Long Way Home. The song the boys had sung to me around the campfire, when I was with Michael, when everything was nice.

I turned on my heel, face-to-face with Luke. He stood with the guitar strap over his shoulder, strumming away. His oceanic eyes searched my own for any sign of emotion. But I hid it well. Yes, I was touched, but I couldn't let him see that. I wasn't just going to leap back into his arms.

Instead, I spotted a clip mic on his collar. I leaned forward, yanking it off and holding it to my lips. "Now this is lovely and all, but you see, Luke kind of cheated on me last night. So even though this is very sweet, I'm gonna have to go. Ashton has kindly allowed me to stay at his and spend the holidays with his family - No, he's still very much with Bryana, thanks - so goodbye." And with that, I hailed a taxi and left.

A/N: so I think this book will be around 60-70 chapters and then maybe a sequel. I don't plan the story, it just comes as I go along, however if Kaya was to get married in the epilogue or the sequel I already have a venue planned, lol.

Btw - don't know if I mentioned this before, but just because this is a luke fic doesn't mean they end up together (; it just means their relationship is the center of the story and most events stem from that.

Ps. it feels crazy how far this story has come in so little chapters. If you think it's too fast paced let me know!!! Feedback is appreciated. This book is for the readers so the priority is that you enjoy it and I enjoy writing it. That balance has to be good for your book to be good. (:
