Final Chapter - Turned Out Alright in the End

So many people have asked for this so I am just putting it up as I cba to send it to everyone

I have planned the ending of this since the first chapter so hope you like it.

Percy POV

The battle was drawing to a close after S.H.I.E.L.D arrived with the helicarrier. Ultron's robots were dying left, right and centre and it seemed like we were finally winning.

I look around the streets after destroying a bunch of them and see Steve, without his shield struggling to fend of so many attacking at once.

"Steve watch out!" I cry as a robot is about to shot him from behind, but he is busy fighting four more attacking him from the front. I run towards him as the robot aims, Ultron no doubt thinking that without Steve we'll all fight each other, the bad thing his he is right. Without Steve being the leader the Avengers would have fallen long ago.

I manage to get in front of the robot's gun but am to slow to swing my sword as it pulls the trigger.

The ground starts to fall out of my vision and the sky takes it's place, screams go up around me but everything is muffled. A constant word, Perry maybe, pierces through the blur. A face appears in my vision, I recognise it. "Steve?" I ask.

"Yeh buddy, I am right here," he replies. "I am so sorry Percy it's my fault."

"Promise me something Steve."

"Anything," he pleads.

"Never blame yourself. I knew this could only end in my death and I accepted it long ago, but you can live. So promise me you will live. That you will do something stupid, that you will meet a girl or a guy and fall in love, that you will make my death mean something."

"How is that fair? You should get the girl, and the cars, and the house. You should always win."

"Not always," I smile at him even though the pain building up in chest got greater. "It's only in the movies that the heroes always win, and I do get the girl. My girl. She's waiting for me Steve. Tell my mum, I'm sorry and I love her. Tell her I'm with Annabeth."

"No, there must be something I can do to help."

"Be a true hero Steve. Live your life. Don't morn me, I will be with the one I love more than anything." I smile, "I'll be with Annabeth." Slowly I felt my life force starting to drift away.

"There one more thing, my little sister, make sure she has everything and more."

He nods as tears slither down his cheeks. "Goodbye Perseus Jackson, you always were and always will be a true hero."

I smile breath out my last word, "Annabeth," as I fade into darkness.

I know you are all going to kill me, but this story was never meant to have a happy ending and you did ask me to reunite Percy and Annabeth, given this isn't what you had in mind but the best heroes have the saddest stories. And Percy is one of the best heroes.
