"50 Free junior varsity!" The announcer says. I get this feeling inside of me like my heart has just become one thousand pounds and it drops into my stomach. I step up on to the starting block and put on my goggles. Make sure their tight and ready. Than I hear "On your mark..Get set..." I lean down and grab the edge of the block, getting into position. *BEEP* the buzzer rings and I fly. Once I feel myself hit the water I feel all of my worries Rush behind me. I kick and stroke until I reach the T-shape line on the bottom of the pool and I take a deep breath, Kick and push of the wall towards the other end. When I come up to breath all I hear is "GGOOO" so I do, I go as hard as I can. Finally I see the flags and I start to sprint even faster than before. I reach and slam my hand onto the stopping timer. I look to my right and see I made it in 2nd on the board!
"YA JUNE YAYY!" What I think is John screaming from the stands. I give a fist pump towards them and than shake the hand of the people next to me. Once I'm out of the water Grace, John, And Jake come down and John gives me an amazing, wet, cheerful hug and instead of my heart weighing one thousand pounds I feel it lift up and flutter into butterfly's.
"I got your shirts wet" I say
"It was worth it plus it'll dry" he says
I blush.
"leave room for Jesus you two" Grace say
"GRACE" I say slightly embraced.
John chuckles.
"When's your next race June" Jake says. Jake and John are twin brothers and it shows since they ask the same questions. A lot. But in many ways their different also like John he talks a lot more than Jake.
"It's a 100 backstroke and it's after diving so I have a bit" I answer
"Ok"
"Hey I'm going to go get some water Jake you should come with me" Grace says
"That's ok I'm not thir-" Jake gets interrupted by Grace grabbing his hand and dragging him to the concession stands. Wow she is the relationship QUEEN I mean she knows exactly what to say, what to do, and when to do it.
"Sooo " says John
"Come on I want to show you my favorite 'spot' since this swim meet is a home meet I have a spot I like to go to and chill when I don't have races."
"Ok?" John says curiously.
I grab his hand and walk out the doors of the pool to outside. There's big rocks by the entrance I walk around to the biggest one and sit on top. I tap next to me suggesting John to come and sit next to me. He climbs up and sits down. For a moment, we just sit there and look out at the setting sun. The air is slightly musk an has the smell of fresh rain even though it stopped rating awhile ago. Finally he says something
"I-I kind of.. Think..maybe...No never mind you'll think it's stupid."
There's a pause as I think of something to say.
"Nothing is stupid unless you make it stupid" I say
"Ok" John says
I wait for a moment but he still doesn't say anything. So I look at him and he looks back. Leans in, Tilts his head, and kisses me. I once again get a feeling in my stomach of my heart dropping than picking up and breaking into fluttering butterfly's. I kiss him back. Than he stops, smiles and says. "sometimes actions are stronger than words" I sit there with him just looking into his eyes than I smile and say
"I like you..like a lot"
"Me too. I mean like I like you a lot not me a lot and I didn-" says John but I stop him by saying
"I know" and we sit there looking at the setting sun.
