'How do I always end up in these types of situations?' I thought while looking at the girl that was glaring at me.' I don't see a reason to fight her, so I should probably clear up the misunderstanding before she starts shooting icicles at me again.'

"I think it has been a misunderstanding here, miss." I started as I captured her attention. "You see those three sleeping beauties behind me?" I said as I pointed behind me to the robbers cause her to look at them."They attempted to rob me of my belongings, which caused me to fight back."

"Really? For all I know, they are innocent citizens that you have harmed for getting in your way!" The girl countered back.

'Fair point' I silently agreed, but before I could respond, a new voice was heard.

"He is telling the truth." A flying cat said as it flew over the girl's shoulder. Its fur were grey silver, its eyebrows were small and rhombus-shaped. He also has a gold earring on his left ear. "Besides, the thief is a female. Not a male, Lia."

'A spirit?' I thought in surprise, before noticed the crazy amount of power that were coming of the spirit 'Oh shit, if that thing were to let loose I would most likely need to use the cursed boundary layer and... and THAT power...' I thought darkly while my mind's eye went through all scenarios that it could with. However, I was taken out by my thoughts when the girl started talking again.

"You be quiet, Puck," the girl said to the cat spirit's name while still glaring at me until she realised what it had just told her, "Hold on... no!" She realized she had failed to catch the thief. She turned away from me before she showed her frustration. "Did I really just waste so much time?!"

I just stood there amused by her getting frustrated by her own screw up for a minute before speaking up. "Sorry for intruding, but did the thief possibly have short golden hair, and was she also rather short?" I asked, snapping her out of her dilemma.

"Yes, that's her! That's the thief who stole something important from me! But what is it to you?" She responded before wearily questioning my intentions.

"You see, I am recently new here in this city and with no money that would be usable here," I pause and let her process what I had said before continuing "so I was wondering if I help you with finding your lost item could you possibly tell me about this country and where one can find a good place to earn money. It's a win-win offer, don't you think?" I finished speaking and watching as she made eye contact with the spirit, most likely having a conversation with it that I couldn't hear before turning back to me.

"How can you help track her down?" She asked.

"Good question. My answer to your question is that I have a spell that lets me track an individual with it, and the majority of the time, it has led me to my target." I answered before holding out my hand to her before asking. "Do we have a deal?"

The silver haired girl glanced to the spirit in a way that was almost like she was asking it for permission, who in turn nodded. Seeing the confirmation, she shaked my hand and looked me in the eye before saying

"We have a deal." She said.

'I like the sound of that.' I thought before giving her a one-eyed smirk. "Then it will be a pleasure working with you, contractor." I said in delight.

"Contractor?" She asked confused.

"Well, you did technically hire me to help you look for your item and you will pay me with information rather than money." I answered with a grin before switching to a sheepish face and said. "Besides, I don't know your name."
