(Emilia's pov)
After waking up, I decided to go and visit Subaru before breakfast. After Roswaal had asked him questions, he went to his guest room and remained there until the evening when we ate dinner. I was getting worried if he wasn't feeling well. If so, then it is understandable why he might not feel so well. After all, he almost did get killed.
《"Well if it isn't the little girl who ran away from the truth."》 《"No, I don't think you will, you mongrel."》 "You could say that my true nature didn't take kindly to being almost killed."
Back at the loot house, Subaru changed, and it was terrifying. His once kind and accepting silver eyes turned cruel and twisted crimson red. That wasn't even the worst part. His presence suddenly felt wrong... really wrong. Just by standing beside him, I felt confused, uncomfortable, and frightened. Confused over his sudden change in personality and power. Uncomfortable over how he seems to know things about myself that I don't. Frightened over his ruthlessness and brutality.
After yesterday's dinner, I had that talk with Puck, I wanted to go and ask Subaru about what really happened back at the loot house, but I never got the chance. I also wanted to ask him why he wanted to know his elements and learn magic when he already knew it. None of it made sense. So now as I stood in front of his door, I took a deep breath before knocking on it.
KNOCK KNOCK
"Come in." I heard Subaru say behind the door. I opened the door and to my shock the room had changed.
The room, which previously only had one table, now had three. One of them laid many different types of metal ingots and materials. On another table, laid different types of gems, jewels and books of many different sizes. By the third table sat Subaru working on something, with many different tools beside him, each one with different usage. He seemed to be really focused on what he was doing.
"When did you...?" I said sh, cked, not even finishing my sentence.
"Good morning Em, lia." He said, his sight never leaving whatever he was working on.
"A-Ah," his greetings snapped me out of my shock. "Good morning to you as well Subaru." I greeted back. I was about to ask him what he was doing but I was interrupted by him.
"Emilia can you give me the orange hexagon shaped gem? I am currently my hands full." Subaru asked me.
"Oh yes, I can do that." I answered. I walk up to the table with gems on it and looked for the one Subaru described. I quickly found the one he was asking for.
"Is the one you wanted." I held out my hand with the gem in it. He took a quick glance at my hand before going back to his work.
"Ah, thanks but could you just hold onto it for a little while longer. Just need to add these finishing touches." He asked me.
"I can do that." I complied. I turn my eyes to what he was working on.
It was a dagger. A small and simple dagger. I notice that Subaru was carving some weird symbols on to the blade. Were they supposed to have a meaning to them? If so I couldn't understand it. Subaru then stopped carving the symbols and put his hands onto the blade.
"Motion, Flow,"
When he spoke that word, orange neon circuit-like patterns went down his arm towards the blade.
