Beep...beep...beep

A soft groan escapes her lips as her eyes slowly flutter open, blinking repeatedly to adjust to the bright lights surrounding her.

She feels sore all over, pain throbbing through her arm.

"She's awake." Someone mutters beside her.

She turns her head, looking at the figure seated by her bedside.

"Nat?" She slurs, trying to focus on the person sitting near her.

"Yeah, hey." Her sister sits up straight when she sees Jada look at her.  "How are you feeling?"

"Like shit," Jada grimaces. "And I'm hungry. And thirsty."

"Not surprising." She laughs softly.

Jada gives her a small grin, before turning her attention to who just appeared at the doorway.

"Phil? No ways, you're alive? Nat told me you died."

Phil chuckles lightly, walking towards the bed and taking a seat beside her.

He reaches over, stroking her hair comfortingly. "Yes I'm alive Jada."

Now Phil is her real father figure, not that piece of shit that sold her back to Dreykov.

She looks at him with tired, yet thankful eyes. He leans forward and places a small kiss on the top of her forehead.

"Don't worry about that now, how are you feeling?"

"Awful." She replies simply, glancing down at her arm.

"Sorry kid." Phil says, standing and helping her sit up. "You'll be discharged in a few hours."

"Where's everyone else?"

"They're all on a mission but you're officially moved into the tower," Nat says softly.

Jada smiles a bit before asking, "What about my friends? Where are they gonna live?"

"Tony's sorting that out but they'll be okay!" Phil assures her.

Jada smiles, "Good."

She closes her eyes and relaxes against the pillows, eventually falling asleep.

A few hours later

Jada wakes up to the sound of a car switching off. She then realizes that she's in the backseat of Nat's BMW and they've just arrived at the tower.

Her door opens and she's helped out of the car, by Andrew.

"I thought you were on a mission with the rest of the team?" Jada asks as she follows him inside.

Andrew shrugs, picking her up bridal style. "I was visiting someone."

Jada gives him a small smile, resting her head on his shoulder. "How did the team react once I hung up?"

Andrew laughs in response, leading her towards an elevator. When the elevator stops at their floor, they enter.

Jada takes a seat on the couch, Andrew taking a seat right next to her.

"So, how did the team react?"

Andrew pauses for a moment before answering, "They were pretty mad, and irritated. Everyone was really worried though, especially Tony."

"What about you?"

"I understood, I was mad, of course, but I understood." He gives her a small smile before leaning down and kissing her temple.

It's quiet for a few seconds before Jada speaks up again. "I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize, I would've done the same." Andrew says with a smile.

He's happy.

Jada grins and looks down, playing with her fingers. She knows that the rest of her soulmates are gonna be pissed... extremely pissed.

"Can I kiss you?" Andrew asks her suddenly, and she looks up at him with wide eyes.

He stares at her expectantly, waiting for a response. After a moment she nods slowly and he grins in response.

He leans in, and presses his lips gently against hers. The kiss is chaste, nothing too intense, but still enough to leave her breathless.

His smile widens as their foreheads touch lightly.

"You're gorgeous," he says softly.

She feels herself blush, the warmth of his hands and face contrasting sharply against the icy air around them.

They stay like that for a while, just holding each other until she falls asleep.
