Luke's POV

I headed to my locker on Monday morning, wanting to get there and get to class without having to see Michael. I knew he was mad and honestly did not want to face what he would say next.

But he was standing right there.

I walked over to my locker and opened it, putting my bag inside and taking out a binder and pencil. I was shocked to see that Michael did not say a word. I almost wanted him to. But I don't think he knew I was there.

So I casually bumped his locker door with my arm.

"Sorry." I said.

"It's fine." Michael replied and then went back to texting whomever. "Did you tell Kody you would go back out with him?"

"Um..No." I shook my head slowly.

"Ah, I see." Michael said. "Well when you do, I hope everything works out." I nodded, thinking that Michael would say something, with more attitude. But he really did not seem to give any type of concern.

"Hey Michael!" I turned to see Skarlet approaching Michael, she did not even look at me. It seemed like she thought I was not there at all. I wanted to say something to gain her attention, but did not want to do it and look like an idiot.

"Hey Skar." Michael greeted with a warm smile. "You get my text?"

"Um..No let me - "

"I was just going to ask if you wanted to go out later with Ashton, Calum and I. You can invite whoever you want along too." Michael said. "We were just going to be working on that huge assignment that Mr. Adkins gave. I know you have him so I am assuming that you got the same assignment."

"Yeah you know I could really need your nerdy help on that." Skarlet laughed. This seemed weird to me, I was just watching in utter confusion. Not trying to hide it at all. But it seemed weird that Skarlet would be going with Michael and his friends. It also seemed weird that she passed me by without a word.

"Awesome, you can meet me here after school if you want." Michael said. Skarlet nodded before her eyes drifted to me.

"Do you need something Luke?" She asked. I shook my head. "Well then I would appreciate it if you could stop looking at us like that."

"S-Sorry."

"It's fine, it's just a little..Odd." Skarlet said. I nodded and turned my head back to my locker as Michael and Skarlet headed down the hallway. Something was up.

I drifted to a class that I had with Barbie and she sat on her phone, occasionally talking to the guy on her right. Destin. I thought it was also weird for them to be talking because they were never friends. In fact, Destin came from a rich family and often gave Barbie hell for doing any type of drug. Making it weird to see them laughing like this.

"Hi Barbie." I said. "Have you talked to Skarlet today? She seemed to be..Acting weird."

"No I haven't." Barbie said but then turned back to Destin.

"Well she - "

"Luke sh. It's very rude to interupt people when they're talking." Barbie sighed before turning back to Destin again. They seemed to be having a good time together so I left the two alone.

Everyone seemed to be acting weird today. It made sense for Michael to be distant, by why would Skarlet and Barbie be acting like this. I did not ask though, instead headed to class after class where it was the same exact problem. Then it came to last period with Sammy. He did not seem to act as weird as he did disappointed though.

"Hey Sammy.." I said quietly. "Um..Do you know why everyone is acting weird today? It seems like..Like no one wants to talk to me."

"We can talk about it after class." Sammy said.

"So there is something going on?"

"Yes." Sammy said. "But we can talk about it later. For now, just sit down."

I did what Sammy said to and took my seat. We went through class without a word - like usual - and when class ended I stepped outside into the hallway with Sammy.

"We - uh - heard through the grapevine that you're going back to Kody?" Sammy asked.

"Well..Yeah, he said he would be nicer and that we could actually date. And I don't know..It sounded like he meant it and so I thought to give it a try." I shrugged. "I mean if it goes bad then we can just break up."

"No Luke." Sammy shook his head. "It doesn't work that way. That's what Skarlet and Barbie and Riley are all trying to get you to see."

"W..What do you ..?"

"It's not going to be what you think it is, Kody is just going to hurt you." Sammy said. "I know this Luke. Everyone is going to leave you to. There won't be anyone to help you this time. Not Skarlet, not Axel. Not me."

"Why would you leave me too.." I mumbled.

"Because they thought it might show you to realize what Kody is going to do. It's like..An ultimatum. Us or Kody." Sammy sighed. "We were really hoping you would chose us. I mean, things are going a lot better now that Kody's gone. We aren't about to let you bring him back so it can be ruined."

"But..He cares.." I said.

"There are three things in this world Kody likes. Drugs, sex, and being the winner." Sammy said. "That's only why it looks like he cares. So he gets to win you and then you become nothing again."

"How could you say that about your friend?" I asked.

"Friend?" Sammy smirked. "You think Kody is my friend? Luke, I have never liked Kody. I never forgave what he did and I never will. You know what happened."

"I do." I nodded. "But - "

"There are no buts Luke, you either get to chose us or Kody." Sammy sighed. "I know you like Kody, but why do you? Cause when he's around he puts you at center of attention. You like being the focus of one person. Luke, lots of other people are willing do that. You just have to open your eyes and get away from Kody."

"Where is all of this coming from? You're usually quiet and nice.."

"I'm not about to let you get hurt, so I am going to tell you the way things are." Sammy said. "You could either come with us and we could all be happy, or you could ruin yourself by going with Kody. Your choice."

Sammy turned and walked away from me. Leaving me in a sate of shock but more like..I had just been abandoned. And if this is what it was like to be alone..I did not like it at all.
