(A/N: Season 1 Episode 9 - "Bridesmaid Up!")
"You know for bridesmaids' dresses these aren't that bad," Cat gushes, coming down the hallway of her apartment in the ankle length, sweetheart cut strapless purple dress. Brooke had sent their dresses over the day before so they could see what it looked liked. The lime green fiasco was luckily dead and buried.
"Wow, who are you right now?" Heather asks with a confused frown, laughing. "You wouldn't even fill out the RSVP card and now you're gushing over dresses...you are hosting the brunch tomorrow?" Heather looks at the decorations already put up.
"Our father is getting married in two days, I am excited," Cat grins.
"I am too. And if you want, you can totally hang out with me and Josh."
"Heather, I am fine that I don't have a date," Cat assures her little sister. "Dad has found happiness after everything he's been through. We have to make sure that everyone has a good time. We are the daughters of the groom."
Heather stares at Cat for a second. That was an epic speech. "Yeah," she nods.
"We are bridesmaided up!" Cat punches the air. Heather nods enthusiastically before she rushes to her room to take off the dress.
Cat also goes to her room, not wanting anything to happen to her dress. She really did like it."Bridesmaided up?" Vincent chuckles from the windowsill, looking over his shoulder at Cat.
"Shh," she closes the door and waves him inside. He turns, putting his legs into the room onto the heater.
"Is that even a verb?" he goes on.
"Obviously you are still feeling better if you are calling me on my grammar," she laughs.
He keeps the smile on his face too. "Yeah, well, I haven't blacked out since I got the serum. I'm relieved." He looks at her dress. "I'm so relieved I feel as festive as you look."
She holds her arms out so he can see the dress better. "Yes, yes, I am trying." She walks to the left side of her bed while Vincent stays on the other near the window. "Not that I'm not happy but weddings are..." she shrugs. "And now I show up, almost thirty, by myself," she scoffs.
"So, uh, you're - " He looks at the small bridal gifts she's been making and picks one up. "Overcompensating?"
"Totally." She sighs and sits down on her bed next to a box of said gifts. "I don't know. Guess I've been so caught up with my mom that I haven't always been there for my dad." Vincent nods. "Vincent, I just want this to be amazing for everyone." She swings and smiles widely up at him. "I wish you could go with me." She looks down at the gift in her hand.
He sits on the bed next to her. "Yeah, might be a few obstacles with that," he says jokingly.
Cat nods and then her eyes widen. "Oh! You mean the whole..." She makes claws with her fingers.
"Yeah, they might have pigs in a blanket and I just kinda - " He leans in and growls, snapping his teeth and she giggles, waving him away.
"Yeah, that would be kind of difficult to explain...the whole dead thing..." He hums. "Although, you can go as Vincent Zalanski."
"Zalanski?" he chuckles.
"I had this huge crush on him in kindergarten."
"Okay, where is this Zalanski from?"
He liked seeing her this bubbly, so he entertained this idea just so see it."Somewhere I have no relatives...Denver?" She shrugs.
"Denver? So, I'd probably be a skier?"
"When you aren't busy saving lives in the ER." She wanted to keep him in his field. He would know what to talk about.
