"I'm in here!" Vincent yells from somewhere in the back when Cat gets to the clubhouse. She walks through to a back room and finds him busy installing a TV holder. "I know it's not a luxury movie cinema yet but we have a full supply of red vines," he smiles, turning to look at her, mentioning her favorite candy.
"Yeah, I'm fine with whatever," she smiles too. It was sweet and thoughtful. She rubs her hands in front of her and Vincent eyes them.
"What's going on?" He walks closer.
"Okay, this is gonna sound crazy, but I know why you've been feeling weird around Gabe."
Vincent's mind went to only one thing. "He finally made a move on you," he growls, jaw clenching.
"No Vincent," Cat sighs, "Uhm, those procedures that Muirfield did on him
...they changed his DNA...just like they did with you."Vincent looks at her for a second and then laughs. "And how do you know this? He told you this?"
"No I saw it! I saw him change."
Vincent stops laughing at the real fear and shock in her eyes."What are you talking about?" he asks stiffly.
"His eyes. They turned yellow, his veins...It all makes sense. Why my mom was his doctor. Why he hates Muirfield - "
"Makes sense?" Vincent scoffs. "The guy is an ADA! Parliament's a pretty high pressure situation, he would have mauled a defendant by now," Vincent walks to his toolbox, puts the screwdriver away, shaking his head in disbelief.
"He has medication," Cat says, and Vincent pauses in unpacking the TV. "Vincent, he takes pills to keep him under control." Vincent stands upright. "Maybe they will work on you?"
He looks at her like she's really losing it now.
"Sorry, medication?" he questions."I know!" agreeing with his confusion. "I don't know how it works or what it does but he goes to work everyday and he's...fine," she shrugs. "And he wants to meet you and you could ask him about it."
"You told him about me?"
"No of course I didn't," she rolls her eyes. "He figured it out."
"What? That I'm the vigilante? That we're connected?"
"He's not looking to turn you in." Vincent frowns, looking at her and then turning back to the TV.
"He thinks that you could help him. Maybe you can help each other?"
Cat loved him as he was but she wanted him to feel better about it. To have some kind of normal. That's what they always talk about."How?" he scoffs.
"Okay, he studied your DNA..." Vincent puts his hands on his hips. Now where the hell did he get that?
"Apparently you each have properties that might be beneficial.""Catherine," Vincent huffs, "this is the guy that spearheaded the task force to hunt me down. Okay? It's a trap," Vincent stares at her. How can she not see this? "And for all we know they could be yellow contact lenses."
"I know what I saw," Cat insists. "I'm suspicious too," Vincent sighs, "but everyday on that task force, it was Gabe who kept insisting on bringing you in alive."
Vincent snorts. "How sweet of him." He walks past Cat to go put up the TV.
"He's not sweet at all," Cat follows him, "his...his medication isn't working as well as it used to."
"So much for the magic pills huh?" Vincent quips before looking at her for a second and back to the TV. And not five minutes ago, you wanted me to take them? Yeah right baby...
