•The next day•

The night before Legolas told Y/N all about the one ring and how it's master.. the one who crafted it.. Lord Sauron.. was looking for it, and the ring was looking for him as well.

So Frodo one of the hobbits from yesterday was given the daunting task of casting it back into the fiery chasm from whence it came. Mount Doom. This quest would likely claim the hobbits life.

It all sounded so awful to Y/N the conclusion of this quest meant the lives of everyone in Middle Earth! It was the ultimate life or death mission.

The conclusion of this mission meant the lives of Y/N's family, her mother, her father, Haldir and her new friends. Not to mention the world as we know it! How could Y/N turn her back on this cause and not help? She wanted to offer more than just a place for them to sleep for the night.

Y/N was quite the bookworm and studied the ins and outs of Middle Earth, she knew Middle Earth like the back of her hand, perhaps even better than her own palace. Her knowledge would be greatly needed on this mission.

The trick was getting her mother to let her go though. Growing up.. Y/N being a frail human.. Galadriel and Celeborn watched their daughter like a hawk. Constantly worried about the slightest sickness or injury she sustained, after all she was only human.. anything could claim her life. On top of that they were first time parents and even all knowing immortal elves can be thrown for a loop when it comes to parenting. After all children don't come with instruction manuals.

Celeborn and Galadriel never grew out of their overprotective nature. So convincing them to let Y/N go on this quest would be a quest all on its own.

"Naneth please!" Y/N begged and she followed her mother around the palace "Y/N for the last time absolutely not! 100% no!" Galadriel protested. Y/N had been following her mother around the palace for 20 minutes now begging her to let her help on this quest, and Galadriel's resolve had yet to falter.

Galadriel walked out into the garden for a stroll but   Y/N was close in tow. "Naneth please stop!" Y/N said with a little volume, she'd never even slightly raised her voice at her mother. Galadriel stopped though and sighed, Y/N walked over to her mother to face her. "Naneth I know you just want me to be safe.."

"That's all I've ever wanted" Galadriel chimed in

"I know.." said Y/N "but naneth I'm a grown woman now I'm not a little child who needs your constant eye" Y/N grabbed her mothers hands "naneth I know I'm just a human.. and that makes you and ada more protective of me.. but I'm still a part of this world even if I'm one of the weaker parts" Y/N said. A tear fell from Galadriels eyes.

"I've got strengths to offer them with me along they'll be stronger!" Y/N exclaimed "naneth... something is going to kill me.." Y/N said and Galadriel started to speak but Y/N gently put a finger to her mothers mouth.

"Wether it be a sickness.. or old age, or an accident.. something will claim me.. humans don't get out of this life alive" Y/N went on and Galadriels eyes filled with more tears. "So if I can go out making a difference or to save the ones I love... well then that's okay with me" Y/N finished.

Galadriel was now sobbing "you're right my heart but... you must understand when I look at you I still see my baby.. my helpless little baby who needed me to sustain her and keep her safe" Galadriel explained and Y/N smiled at her mother. "Oh naneth I'll need you till I die" Y/N said "oh I can't stand to think about it!" Said Galadriel as she wrapped her arms around Y/N's neck.

Y/N just hugged her mother back "I love you so much" Galadriel said as she kissed Y/N all over her face "I love you" Y/N replied. "So does this mean I can go?" Y/N asked, Galadriel sighed... "you can go.. but you have to write me at every town you stop in and the first time you get hurt you're coming home understood?" Galadriel said sternly. Y/N nodded "understood" Y/N said.

Galadriel kissed and hugged her daughter again.

This was the part of Galadriels vision she had that she didn't like.. but she realized... like every parent she had to let her baby go.

•Later that day•

Y/N was about to leave with the fellowship, she was walking to the boat when her father called her name from behind her.

"Y/N" he beckoned, Y/N turned to see her father standing there at the banks of Lothlórien "one moment" she said to Aragorn. Aragorn nodded and    Y/N went to meet her father.

"Yes father?" Y/N said

"I need to confess something to you.." Celeborn said as tears pricked his eyes Y/N had never seen her father cry before. "Ada what's the matter?" Y/N asked concern in her face and voice.

Celeborn took a deep breath as Y/N wiped a tear from his face "when you were not half a year old yet your grandfather... came back to get you" Celeborn started and Y/N's eyes went wide "your mother and I agreed that if no one claimed you in a months time we'd raise you as our own. Well when 5 months went by we decided that was it you were ours" Celeborn went on as Y/N listened intently.

"So you can imagine our shock when your grandfather showed up out of the blue one day and tried to take you from us. Your mother was vehemently against it... but I- I" Celeborn stuttered "you what Ada?" Y/N asked gently.

Celeborn let a sob escape his lips "I let him take you" Celeborn cried out as the sobs took over, the look of concern grew starker. "I let him take you while your mother fought against me crying out for you like I was ripping out her own soul" Celeborn went on "but.. your mother got you back in the end and we never saw your grandfather again" Celeborn finished.

"And I'm just so sorry my sweet child" Celeborn said as he held his daughters face tenderly between his hands. "I'm so sorry I almost let him take you from us" he apologized again. Y/N smiled at her father "oh ada..." Y/N said "there's nothing to forgive" Y/N added which made Celeborn sob again.

Y/N hugged her father tightly and he hugged her back "you're mine my little miracle in the brush" Celeborn said to which Y/N chuckled. "And you're mine Ada"  Y/N replied.

"Y/N" Aragorn said softly, Y/N turned to look at him "it's time" he said and Y/N nodded.

Y/N turned back to her father "goodbye Ada" Y/N said Celeborn wrapped his daughter in another hug and then let her go.

Celeborn and Galadriel waved goodbye to the fellowship from the banks of Lothlórien. Not leaving till their daughter was no longer in sight. They made their way back to the palace and were met with Haldir outside the doors.

"Haldir" Celeborn said "may we assist you?" Celeborn asked "I was just curious as to the whereabouts of lady Y/N I haven't seen her since late yesterday" Haldir said. Celeborn and Galadriel traded confused looks.. they thought Haldir would've known. "She left with the fellowship" Galadriel said.

Haldirs face visibly sank at her words "what?" He asked "we just left the shores of Lothlórien to send her off" Celeborn added. Before either of them could say another word Haldir bolted for the stables leaving Galadriel and Celeborn perplexed.

Haldir grabbed a horse and galloped as fast as the horse could take him to the shores of Lothlórien. Once he reached the banks he jumped off the horse and looked everywhere. But there was no sign of Y/N or the fellowship anywhere. Haldir felt a rage build up inside of him.

"AHHHHHHH!!!" Haldir yelled angrily and threw a large rock at a nearby tree. The rock broke into pieces when it hit the tree cause he threw it so hard. The horse whinnied and jumped a little, startled by Haldirs outburst.

Haldir just sat in the banks of Lothlórien with his head in his hands trying not to cry.

How could she leave without saying goodbye?
