Chapter 5

It had taken over an hour for the six teens to make it to the light house that was located by the cliffs. The building was old with faded paint. The six stopped at the base and stared at the building. Jamie and Mike ran up to the door and tried to open the door.

"It won't open Kyle" Jamie whined. Kyle walked up and slammed his shoulder against the door. The door groaned but did not give away. It took two more hits before the door slammed open. Inside the building spiderwebs covered everything. There was a broken-down table with a wooden chair by it in one area and on the other side was a mold covered mattress.

"What a dump" Tara Sneered.

Matthew shrugged. "It could be worse."

"WOW" Jamie explained "Look at how big that spider is." Tara backed away with a pale face.

Kyle laughed at Tara's face. "What is wrong? Afraid of spiders?"

Tara rolled her eyes. "I just don't like them."

The group started up the metal stairs listening as it started creaking. They got to the top of the stairs and started looking around at the view.

"Look!! There is the boardwalk. It is so tiny." Christian said.

Kyle laughed. "Look at the cliffs. I would hate to fall over the cliffs. It would be a horrible way to die."

Jamie and Mike ran up to the rail and leaned against it. "Hey what's that over there?" Mike exclaimed.

Kyle and Matthew leaned over the boys and looked where the Mike pointed. Along the cliffs there was a set of stairs leading down and disappearing down where the group could not see anything.

Kyle smirked. "Let's go check it out."

"Yeah" Jamie cheered.

AS the group headed toward the stairs to go down Matthew grabbed Kyle's arm. "Do you think this is a good idea? It looks dangerous. One fall and someone could die."

Kyle laughed. "Do not be a baby. Everything will be fine."

The group went down the stairs in the light house and walked over to the stairs by the cliffs. Kyle shook the fence as he looked for a way to the stairs by the cliffs. A corner of the fence came away and he pulled it back from the pole. One by one they slipped under the fence and started climbing down the stairs. As they came into the cave they froze. The place had stuff everywhere. There was a couch, a wheelchair, barrels with firewood, and random junk in piles everywhere. Posters covered the walls everywhere. The group walked around the room looking for hidden treasures hidden with the junk in the room.

Mike started going through the books on one of the shelves while Christian started messing with the skateboard. Kyle walked over and sat in the wheelchair. Why there was a wheelchair here he would never know.

"Hey Kyle. Look at my new jacket." Kyle turned to look at Tara. She sported a new jacket all right. It had different patches placed all over it. She smiled. "I am going to keep it. Looks better on me than the loser who left it here" She turned and started digging under the sofa seats. "Wicked. Looks like we are going to have fun tonight!!!"

Tara held up a bag of joints and pills. It seemed like they had hit the gold mine. He turned as someone placed a hand on his shoulder. Mathew pointed to the bed in the corner of the cave. "There are two people asleep in the corner, a woman and kid." Mathew snorted "They sleep like the dead man. Even shaking them will not wake them up."

Kyle raised an eyebrow. He stood and walked over to look at the two. The girl looked familiar, but he could not figure out where he had seen her. Jamie ran up to him.

"Look what I found. Its wine" The kid held up a jeweled bottle. Inside was a red liquid filled halfway full. Kyle took it from him and held it up. He could not figure out what kind of wine it was, but he knew it was his now.

Matt grabbed Kyle's arm. "We should head back. It is going to be a long walk back to the boardwalk and the factory."

Kyle nodded "Grab what you want and let's get out of here."

Kyle turned and headed toward the entrance. Christian grabbed the skateboard as Mike pulled a couple books off the shelf to take with him. The others started following him out not realizing from whom they stole from.
