Katianne's POV

As I strolled through the dark halls of Hogwarts, I heard quiet weeping and sobbing. Confused, I followed the echoes and eventually found a blonde boy, who seemed to be either a first or second year, sitting alone on a bench as he hugged his knees close to his chest while burying his head in legs.

I slowly walked up to him, carefully sitting down on the bench beside the young blonde boy. "Hey." I said quietly while the boy shakily lifted his head up, allowing me to see his glossy eyes and crimson red cheeks that were stained with streaks of tears. "What's your name?" I asked softly. "Michael." The young blonde boy muttered in response. "What's wrong? Is it the scars?" I cooed, which led to Michael nodding slightly.

"Let me see it." And with that said, his trembling palm started reaching to me as I engulfed it with my warm hands, scanning over the fading scars done by that stupid excuse of a witch. I mean, how can someone be so cruel? How miserable could you be to want to control kids and do such evil things as punishment?

"You're going to be fine, Michael. See? They're already going away." I murmured, caressing the scars with my fingertips. Right after I spoke, the young blonde boy burst into tears as he started sobbing uncontrollably. Michael rested his head on my lap while I started softly stroking his hair; feeling drops of his tears dripping onto my legs.

Draco's POV

Hiding behind a wall, I located Katianne sitting there with a first year laying on her lap. She played with his hair as he cried; and just looking at her, I could feel regret rushing through my veins.

Why did I kiss her? Why did I have to ruin the friendship that we had? It was such a stupid move. I could've said that I didn't mean to, or that I was tired; but how can I? It would all be lies; and she does not deserve to be lied to. Truth is, kissing her was the best decision I have ever made; kissing her made me feel fulfilled, it made my heart feel like it found its other half.

But was it really worth it? Throwing away the one good thing I had left over a desperate need of affection? Throwing away the one person that cared about me; the one person I can depend on and talk to when I'm at my lowest?

Those were questions that spread through my head like wildfire since what occurred that night. However, they were put to a stop when Umbridge showed up. "As I told you once before, Ms. Potter; naughty children deserve to be punished." And with that, the Professor, who I used to think was great, walked away; Katianne staring daggers at the back of her head.

"It's getting late, don't you think? Why don't you go off to bed?" I could hear the blonde's distant voice tell the first year; who nodded, as the both of them stood up, walking off to their own common rooms.
