AURORA'S POV
I stirred awake to the sound of my phone ringing incessantly, one call after another. I reached down and grabbed it off the ground, it was someone from the front gates of the apartment complex.

"This is Aurora, how can I help you?" I answered, groggily. I could hear someone shouting in the background, "I'm her husband, this is bullshit! I need to be on that list! I bet it was that freak that didn't put me on there!" Fuck. I shook Chris awake.

"Mrs. Aurora, I have someone up here shouting that he's your husband? His name is Alexander?" I should have known. Chris grabbed the phone from my hands.

"He is under no circumstances allowed in. They're going through a divorce, he's not her husband anymore." Chris explained sternly. I almost felt bad for the girl on the phone, he sounded more pissed at her that she would even ask.

"I completely understand, we will tell him to go out. I'll watch once I open the gate to let him U-turn." She assured us. I knew Alexander though. He didn't give two fucks about any rules.

"Thanks." Chris hung up the phone, then pulled his jacket on and went to the front door. "I'm going to make sure he doesn't show up, please stay inside." He begged for my safety. Shortly after he went out I heard a car door slam, and then someone started raising their voice. I watched through the doorbell camera that the rest of the band had set up for me.

"Where the fuck is that bitch!" Alexander shouted. Chris stood in front of the door, almost like a guard at a night club, with his arms crossed across his chest.

"She's not here, Alexander. Now, the smart thing to do is to leave right now before I call the police." Chris warned. I watched as Alexander turned and walked back to his car, but he didn't get in. Instead, he grabbed what looked like a hammer and walked over to my Volkswagen. Before Chris could even process what was happening, Alexander had smashed my windshield in, then he went on to smash in my headlights and bang up my hood. My heart sank. I loved that little Bug. While he was occupied doing that, Chris called the police and they were quick to respond and drag him out.

"Do you want to press charges and file a restraining order?" The cop asked as he pulled out a notepad. Before I could say anything, Chris made the decision.

"Yes, absolutely. I don't want him to be able to be anywhere near her again." He demanded. Chris was practically fuming over the whole situation.
After a couple of hours everything had calmed down. I was sat on the couch with legs across Chris' lap, reading a book while he did some work related stuff on his laptop. At least, that's what he told me he was doing. We were in complete silence, neither one of us talking or immersed in our phones. There was no chaos, screaming fighting. It felt... odd.

"What do you want to do about your car?" His voice cut through the silence, startling me as he continued to look at his laptop. I saw a smirk come across his face, and he rubbed my leg, "I'm sorry, love, I didn't mean to startle you." He apologized. I placed my bookmark in my page.

"Well, I guess I'll get it towed and fixed. Hopefully insurance will cover it." I told him. He raised an eyebrow at me.

"Aurora, it has 130,000 miles on it. It's not worth it. Why don't we just go look around, see what you like." Chris suggested. He had a point, and I had always wanted a sports car, this was my chance. Chris shut his laptop and laid it on the coffee table, then lightly slapped my leg and lifted them up off his lap, putting them up over his head. My eyes went wide, a blush coming across my face, and he froze.

"I-I am so s-s-sorry. I did not think about it." He stuttered and put my legs down, then stood up. I looked down, trying to hide my blush, then stood up and slid on my shoes.

"W-we should probably go." I told him, trying to break the awkward moment.
As we pulled up to the dealership we were greeted by a salesman with black slicked back hair. Chris opened up my car door for me and took my hand as he helped me out of the Challenger.

"Hi, I'm Jade, what can we do for y'all today?" The salesman asked nicely as he shook our hands. I never knew how to buy a car, so Chris took the lead.

"We're looking for a new car for her. She was in a Volkswagen Beetle, but I am game for whatever she wants on this lot." Chris informed him. The car salesman looked down at me.

"Well, my budget is really only $15,000. So I'm game for what fits in my budget." Chris looked down at me, almost as if he was surprised it was so low. Every car we looked at in my price range had something wrong, well that's what Chris kept saying. It was the third dealership we had gone to when he finally turned to me, furrowing his brow.

"Aurora. Just let me buy you a car. Whatever you want. BMW, Corvette, anything." He offered. I sighed, then thought for a few minutes before finally deciding to just do it his way. I walked up to an all black Camaro and stood next to it.

"This one, this is what I want." I told him. He smiled at me and laughed a little bit, then walked up to me. It was brand new, fresh off the truck that day. Someone had custom ordered it, but then said they couldn't afford payments. It had red Italian leather seats for the interior. And it was $60,000. Chris didn't seem to care, he flagged the salesman down, and they went in to draw up the paperwork. I'm about an hour Chris came walking back out and tossed me the keys.

"Go wild, wild child. It's fully loaded, V8 engine. I'll follow you home." I was so excited I jumped right in, then peeled out of the parking lot. Chris instantly phoned me. "Slow down, hellion. I can't even keep up with you." Right then he pulled up next to me at a red light, looking over at me.

"Why are you just staring at me?" I asked him as I smiled back at him.

"You just look so damn hot driving that car." He confessed. I could feel my cheeks turning red, as red as the light that had now turned to green. "I'll race you, if I win I get to take you with me to see Trick R Treat at that Alamo Drafthouse place." He broke my train of thought, and I let him get a head start, ensuring he would win.
That night we went out to Alamo Drafthouse to see the 10pm screening of Trick R Treat. He kept shifting in his seat, almost like he was nervous. Then, he finally made the move. He placed his arm around my shoulders, and I lifted up the arm rest that divided our seats. I leaned into him, and could practically feel the anxiety leave his body, almost as if he was relieved that I didn't reject his move.
After the movie we walked out, talking about how the movie was seeing it on a big screen for once. I babbled on about my love for horror movies, and how much I loved that movie, never understanding why it never got a theater release until now. We stood there under the bright lights of the theater awning as he listened to me, when suddenly I felt something on my red lips. He had crashed his lips onto mine, and it took me a second to decide to just lean into it. He placed one hand on my cheek, and the other was on my waist pulling me into his body. I felt almost breathless as he slowly pulled away, both our eyes still closed.

"W-we should get home." I told him after a few seconds of our foreheads resting on one another. He nodded his head, and we made our way to the car. The car ride was silent, but the tension was deafening. The only noise filling the air was the quiet sound of the radio playing Slipknot's self titled. I then noticed that he was going way over the speed limit, almost like he was in his own little world. He sped around the corner to pull into the the apartment parking lot, then parked the car.

"Sorry, I just, was thinking that's all." He apologized. I smiled lightly at him, then stepped out of the car and walked inside. I hung my jacket and my purse up on the wall hangers by the door, and made my way back to my bedroom, shutting the door behind me to get in my pajamas. That's when he knocked on my bedroom door. I opened it, not even thinking that I didn't have a shirt on.

"Ora, I think we need to talk about wha-" I cut him off and pulled him into a passionate kiss. At that moment, I wanted nothing more than to be with him.
