This is NOT the last chapter in the story. Drama is gonna happen, heads up.
Chapter 50: We All Know Julian Likes You
Lucas groaned, pulling away. "I hate your sister so much."
I backed up and looked at Cate who stood on the front porch of my house. "Tell that to her," I told him. "I'll see you tomorrow." Sunday-another hopeless day of waiting for his brother.
Lucas rubbed the back of his neck and nodded. "I don't really think Brandon is gonna come. He hasn't showed up for the past three weeks."
I took a few steps back. "I'll still be there. See you." I turned and started walking back to my house.
"See ya."

Gramma and Cate actually had been waiting for me. Gramma had made Cate shout because she didn't want to risk losing her voice. I was made to sit and give every detail of the date. Like the good person I wasn't, I was as vague as possible.
After all, there was a thing called personal life.
The next day was spent again hopelessly waiting for my ex-best friend to show up at the Pennhurst Asylum. Julian and Lucas kept telling me how Brandon wasn't going to show up randomly after not showing up for so long. It was annoying especially because Julian was supposed to be the optimistic one.
We all waited till six and then headed back home. Actually, they headed home whereas I headed off to the hospital.
My shoulder muscle still hadn't healed or felt better after I pulled it. Dr. Vargo seemed surprised to see me again. First, she made her people take x-rays and then concluded nothing major aside from a muscle strain.
"Because of your last injury, your shoulder was vulnerable. I am surprised still at how little you took care of your shoulder," Dr. Vargo said with a pointed look. I looked down guilty. "Now, I want you to ice it for about fifteen minutes every hour until the swelling goes down. Compression will also help. I'll get you an elastic bandage soon."
"Thank you," I said. We were sitting in a small room. I sat on the patients' bed while Dr. Vargo stood.
"No problem. You kids really do need to watch. The other boy's shoulder was worse than yours and he didn't end up hurting it again," she said as she wrote something on the clipboard in her hand. Julian hurt his shoulder as well?
"His shoulder was worse than mine?" I asked baffled.
"Yes. Didn't you talk to him?"
"I did but he only talked about his forehead getting injured," I said thoughtfully. Julian had indeed only told me about the stiches on his forehead.
Dr. Vargo gave me funny look. "It was his shoulder and arm, Sandy. Are we talking about the same person here?"
"I'm not sure. Did he have a British accent?" I slowly asked. This was getting confusing.
"Nope." She shook her head. "Typical all American boy."
Oh. Well, Julian would have needed to pull off a really great accent for that. Wait, this meant that something was fishy. "Dr. Vargo, who was-"
"I can't disclose any names. Now, let me go get you that bandage and check you out. And call your Gramma. Make sure to bring an adult next time with you, okay?" I nodded in response. "It's a children's hospital. You need an adult even if you are seventeen." She walked out of there after giving me a small smile.
