The next day, Satine keeps looking at Peter during lunch to see the thoughts radiating off his body with his furrowed brows. She sets her chin on her fist and just stares. The movement makes him look over and have to do a doubletake after looking away, making her slowly smile.

"What's on your mind, Peter?"

"Oh, it's nothing, really." He shakes his head. "Doesn't matter."

"I find that hard to believe." She chuckles. "It definitely matters if you look that worried about it. You can tell me, I won't tell anyone."

"Uh..." He hesitates.

"Peter." She picks up her head and gently places her hand on his shoulder, increasing his heart rate. "It's okay. You don't have to tell me, just know that I'm here if you need something."

"Well, it's really not a big deal, but a... friend of mine said something then she said another thing and I feel like I'm supposed to know what that means but... I don't." He shrugs while turning away.

"That was very descriptive." She jokes and he chuckles. "Who is... She?"

"What?" He turns back to her. "Oh! Oh, no, no, no." He shakes his head with his hands up. "She's really just a frien-"

"Peter." She chuckles.

"Yeah?" He breathes.

"Calm down." She smiles. "It's okay. I don't control who you're friends with. Either way, you're still my best friend so..."

"Thanks." He chuckles. "You're my girl best friend. I still got Ned." He points with a shrug.

"Mhmm." He nods into his phone and they smile.

"And that's just fine." She shakes her head with a chuckle. "As long as I'm somebody, I don't care who."

"Okay." He nods. "Good to know."

Satine, Ned, and Peter walk out of sixth hour together and drop Ned off at his locker before getting to Peters.

"Uh... Are you doing anything later?" Peter nervously asks while putting his stuff in his bag.

"I wish I wasn't." She sighs and he scrunches his nose in disappointment. "I have to help Diana, the mom, with the kids because she chose the wrong career for her life and she's an idiot and I don't like her."

"Yeah?" He chuckles with a smirk.

"Yeah." She sighs with a nod. "But, maybe I'll see you tomorrow?" She smiles.

"Yeah, okay." He nods with a relieved smile.

"No, I'm just avoiding you." She waves him off and he chuckles.

"I couldn't imagine why."

"Probably because you're a loser, Peter."

She turns around and he smiles a bit before furrowing his brows while watching her walk away, unknowingly leaving with a smirk.

After a long couple hours of chaos with the young children and Diana's bossy-self, Satine is finally free to breathe. But she's also not because, now she's gotta overthink Peter's reaction for when he confronts her about her secret identity.

"Satine." Kiley calls for the third time while she just sits completely zoned out against the wall. "Satine. Satine. Sati-"

"Good lord, woman." She looks up. "What?"

"You weren't here." She shrugs in a high-pitched tone. "Sorry."

"What's wrong?" Noah asks.

"Just thinking." She waves it off. "Doesn't matter."

They give her a doubting look and she stares at them, showing that she's not telling them. They turn away with sighs and shrugs and she gets up with her bag and goes to the roof, leaving them to worriedly stay behind.

Satine's up there for two hours before the usual time comes for her to put her suit on.

She goes swinging around until she sees Spiderman standing around as if he's waiting for someone, for her. She sighs and silently jumps over there but he turns around anyway.

"Satine." He nods.

"Peter." She nods sideways while playing cool.

"How'd you make that suit?" He motions.

"Peter, you have your notes out in the open for everyone to see and I have a camera."

"Touchè." He squints his eyes and she chuckles. "What about the strength?"

"Birth."

"Wait, really?" He takes his mask off with a step forward.

"Yeah." She takes hers off too. "Don't know why. Probably related to some...really...strong...guy." She shrugs with a wondering, toothy smile.

"Oh, yeah, probably." He nods with furrowed brows, making her smile.

"Are you mad?"

"No, that's actually really cool." He chuckles and she sighs. "And, I mean, y-you look great." He shrugs and she smiles a bit. "I love the design. And it fits well- Or, no!" He puts his hands out and she chuckles. "I didn't mean it like that." He talks quickly. "I'm not looking at your body. Or, you have a great body- You know what? I'm just gonna stop talking." He turns around and squeezes his eyes shut while biting his bottom lip.

She looks down at her feet with a bright red face and breathy chuckle. She lifts her head and places her hand on his shoulder.

"Peter." She slowly turns him around to see the squinted eyes. "It's okay." She softly nods. "That was a very nice compliment, thank you."

"You're welcome."

"And you have a great body too." She nods with raised brows and his eyes go wide for a second. "Just saying." She shrugs and he nervous swallows.

"Thanks."

"I'm messing with you." She chuckles and he sighs. "But, I'm also not lying. Anyway. I should get going. Will I still see you tomorrow?"

"Mhmm." He nods quickly.

"Good." She nods softly. "Bye, Peter."

"Bye. Satine."

She slowly smiles before jumping and swinging away, leaving him fall to his back with a dramatic sigh.

"Holy shit!"
