standing in a nice dress,

Allie went to sleep on May 7th expecting nothing of the next morning but a day of rest. No work, no responsibilities.

However, Allie was shaken awake lightly the next morning by warm hands. She sighed and turned away— but the room immediately became cold, as the blanket was pulled off her, leaving only her feet under it.

"What?" she groaned, squinting at the figure in front of her. Everything was too bright.

"Come on, Allie," said the voice of her favorite person, taking her hand with his metal one and pulling her up.

"It's too early, Bucky," she said, rubbing her eyes.

"It's ten o' clock."

"My point exactly."

"I have a surprise," he said. Allie could see enough now to see the smile on his face.

"Surprise?" Allie stood up and walked in front of the mirror by her bed, eyes now wide. She fixed her hair. As real consciousness came to her, she furrowed her brows and turned around to face her boyfriend.

"Hold on. How did you get in here?"

"Your sister gave me a key," he said, taking the little gold bit of metal out of his pocket.

"Of course she did," said Allie, turning back to the mirror. "Anyway, what's the surprise?"

"I'm not telling you. You'll have to trust me."

Allie rolled her eyes playfully.

"Alright, I'm coming. Let me get dressed."

"I'll meet you outside," he said. He kissed her on the cheek and walked out of the room, leaving Allie to her thoughts.

Allie had only been with him for a couple months, but she loved him. She loved him so much. Allie was a little afraid to tell him, though. She always supposed it would just come out when she was ready. Maybe he would say it first. She hoped that would be the case. Because otherwise, she wasn't sure what would happen. Maybe today was the day. Maybe now it would all happen.
