Chapter 4//The Cruel Maze

~Ib~

Mary and I were halfway through the maze when we saw it. The exit.

We walked out the door and saw Garry, sitting on a crate of boxes. I smiled bightly and walked up to him. Instead of him hugging me, he gave me a nasty look.

He didn't say anything but he walked away, not even bothering to look back.

From the nasty look he gave me, I got the hint and backed off. Mary, on the other hand, rushed up to him.

She hugged him and he hugged her back. Then they both walked away, Marry looked at me with a look that made me break.

I was left abandoned. By myself. All alone.

I fell to my knees and put my hands over my face, my hands getting soaked by the tears.

My sobs got louder, I closed my eyes and felt the cold water soak my cheeks.

"Ib? Ib!" I heard Garry say.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The wall shook as someone hit it. I opened my eyes and saw Mary sitting in front of me.

Her own tears streaming down her pale cheeks.

"Ib! What's wrong?!" I heard Garry yell once more.

BANG!

He hit the wall once more.

I tapped on the wall, Tap tap tap.
And the loud noises stopped.

"I-Ib?" He called out, his voice was shaky.

"It's ok. It was just my imagination." I told him as I wiped my eyes clear of remaining tears.

"Ok.. Ib. Just run to the exit please. I have to make sure you're ok. Please." He pleaded weakly.

"Ok." I responded as I helped Mary up.

We continued to walk until we found the real exit. We closed the door. I looked around for Garry but he wasn't here. I looked over at the other door, the doorknob was shaking violently.

BAM

I heard as Garry hit the door, "LET ME IN DAMMIT!!" He screamed.

"Garry?!" Marry exclaimed and rushed over to the door.

"M-Marry? Is Ib there? Are you two alright??" He asked panicked.

"We're fine. Why can't you open the door?" She asked

"I..... I don't know." He responded.

I looked around and saw a shiny black key. "Mary." I called out softly.

"..?"

I raised the key up so she could see it. "Ib! The key! It could open the door!" She exclaimed.

I ran over, unlocked the door, and swung it open.

Garry hugged me almost immediately and I hugged back. "Ib. Are you ok. You're not hurt are you?" He asked.

I shook my head 'No' as we parted from the hug. "Good." He sighed.

His head turned to Mary, "Are you?" He asked. She shook her head.

I held Garry's hand as we continued on into the next room. Marry was to my other side, she silently walked holding my arm.
