Chapter 12

FLASHBACK

CHAN'S POV

Chan wakes up from his nap. He reads the messages in the discussion group.

<Jisung>: Hey, by the way, Jay, have you seen Jungwon since the party?

<Jay>: Yes! Tonight, I'm going to the music store to see him. He is working late so I'll be with him while he closes the store. After that, I'll drive him to his house.

<Jeongin>: What a gentleman! I hope that you guys will end up together.

Chan can't believe it. Really? Jungwon wants this type of guy. Chan bites his lips and runs to his parent's bedroom. He sits next to the bed. He knows that under the bed, his father hides a gun. He looks at the munitions; a few bullets are inside. If he kills himself, it could be easier than confronting all the things that happened right now. His heart is racing, and he feels lost. He closes his eyes and touches the cold weapon in his hands. He wants to do it, but at the same time, he can't. He says:

—Why should I kill myself when the problem is from someone else? Let's just kill the problem.

He grabs the gun and goes in his car. He is driving with no destination until one hour before Jungwon closes the store. When he parks the car, he looks inside. Jay is sitting here, probably waiting for Jungwon to come back. He wears a mask on his face, puts on a cap, and gets out of the car. He swallowed and kicked the door. When he saw Jungwon's face, he exploded into a tantrum and screamed:

— You can't cheat on me.

Chan presses the trigger. The sound of the gun, the way the weapon steps back, and the way Jungwon screams and covers his ears makes him lose control. He closes his eyes and drops the gun on the ground.

A long silence is now in the room. Jungwon looks at Chan with his wet eyes. Chan missed his shot. The bullet is in the wall. Jay doesn't move and looks at Jungwon. Chan can feel Jungwon's angriness in the whole room. Finally, Jungwon screams:

—Are you serious? Have you tried to shoot me? You are seriously sick; that's why I haven't dated you. Now you are mad because I'm seeing someone else?

Chan is in silence. Jay is looking at him. Jay says:

—You know, Chan, I'm so disappointed about you. I never thought it would end up like this.

Jay stan up and went into the back store. Jungwon looks at Chan and squinches his eyes. He says:

—You know what, Chan, you should work on yourself. I hope you're not gonna post about Jay and me at this point.

—Who told you about that?

—Are you really asking, Jungwon says with a sassy face.

—Oh yeah, your boyfriend told you about it; you probably told him about our relationship, too, Chan says aggressively.

—We haven't dated. I know you wanted to date me; I said no; I thought the story was over. Forget about me; I don't know why you keep me in your mind; it's ridiculous.
